I must say that when it comes to sourcing of parts, Ah Boy has no equal in my opinion. He will make a few phone calls (whilst mid-conversation he will talk about the government, laws or anything under the sun, thus testing my patience) and voila! He has found your much needed parts.

However, I don't trust the mechanics after an incident. Whilst changing the tyre for my old Blackbird, the mechanic told me that my wheel bearings needed change and showed me new NTN bearings which he had at hand. He kept on harping on about how good the wheel bearings were, thus justifying it's $35 price tag. In front of him, I called Ah Boy and the fella panicked. Ah Boy told me that the bearings were $12. I gave the mechanic a "WTF" look and told him to get on with installing my tyres. That was the last time I used their workshop services.

However, I still patronize Ah Boy to get accessories like helmets and such. And don't you just love his ultra raspy voice???!?

Ah Boy is a good fella, and so are most of his staff at his Kelantan Rd shop. e.g. his wife/sister/mistress who sold me a caberg konda for $130. I've been buying things from LAB for many years and saved myself quite a bit too. Know what you want, the market price, and you shouldn't end up getting chopped there. But the only time I went to his workshop was during my Honda wave days when I changed tyres and rims.

Anw, Ah Boy has started advertising his annual 'June tyre promotion'. '$400 tyres for $300and all year 2014 tyres' he says. But I'll be giving that a miss. I'm not to keen on meeting Mr Muscles again (believe he is still there) at his workshop..
