Rear tyre keep losing air?

soap water to check-no holes

change tyre-also same

tyre used-M1

any advice?

u changed tyre, did u change the valve as well ? by right, valve needs to be changed every time u fix new tyre.

besides, tyres lose pressure eg 2psi each week.

Yesterday was history, tomorrow is mystery, today is a blessing. I love today.

fyi... the problem u stated above is normal to me... my rear rim drops 2-3 psi after hard session of riding (4-5 hours)..

another is to check whether ur rim has been repainted before (on the inner walls) and are there any stone chips on the paint/rim has been sent for re-alignment due to it being bent from an accident ?

if u want it to be near perfect, change new rim lah. my front rim is brand new, after ridden 1200km and i park it aside for 10 days without riding, it only drops 3 psi. new rim costs only $580 for the front and almost $800 for the rear.

btw kenfoo, its not courteous to type your statement in bold. :sian:

i understand your frustration with this kinda small problems :)

btw u can buy a bicycle pump n pressure gauge keep at home, so whenever u wanna ride, spend 5-10 mins before moving off to check/pump the tyre.. a little sweat, but its better than going to the petrol station to pump...

besides, the gauges at petrol stations normally have slight errors.. to prove it, pump air in station A..then go station B check. 90% chances are both pressures read in the gauge will be different.

Accord to ur idea,I also got tried.

B4 I change tyre,problem at there.

Chong claim change tyre and all will be OK,but alias result the same

Now chong ask me to go back when the tyre lose air again and he will find a solution for me . Hope a miracle appear.

Anyway I do not think it is a small issue when air lose so much in a week.

try changing the tyre's valve stem...air could be leaking from that little thing.

past experience of my friend's R6 losing tyre pressure despite tyre changes, rim checks ended up with the very inexpensive (as compared to changing tyres or rims) fix of swapping out the valve stem.

cheers.

dats the problem.. sg ppl all want new bike cos its affordable. i dont know how many left in sg, but should be very very few (not inclusive of those sg bikes sold over to msia n ridden by msians)

wild guess; maybe about 10 units left in sg ? in this forum i've only seen like another 4-5 people thru these years (in this forum but not in the CBR9 thread)

whoa more than 10... not bad leh... wat bout other models; eg zx9/zx7/srad750 of the mid-90's.... got see any of it on sg roads ?

i think the cbr9 is still a budget bike for many... 1 full tank can get 280km-300km if gentle on the throttle... i dont see that in EFI bikes anymore today... hehe

seldom see zx9/zx7/srad750 on the road.

see many 919 fireblades on the road everyday, eveytime head the exhaust note makes me feel itchy wanna ride again...

seldom see 929 or 954, mostly coe renewed 919, think due to its solid engine and superb fuel consumption.

looks old but classic fat boy look, with simple mode like full system+jet kit+filter, still can go 300km/h.

big underseat compartment can put rain coat also. no modern sports bike can compare to it man.
