Haha yeah fast.... but not the first time that Tapei/Amsterdam is fast.... the infrastructure seems to work perfect.

A couple a weeks a go the Dr. Pulley's arrived also in 2 weeks.

And about 1,5 years a go I ordered a motor scanner "ECU reader" for my Kymco from Taiwan and If I remember well it was also fast delivery.

I also never discovered customs/tax problems....I guess they only check random?

Tomorrow I will try to describe the quality and I shall try to up some pic's. of the accessories.

Cheers all :)

Hi,

Any idea how the Xciting 400 is compared to the Aprilia SR Max 300? Other than power and maybe availability of ABS version.

I'm considering these 2.

Your inputs are appreciated.

IMHO both are good brand. Just do a little bit of leg work rather than asking point blank. Which is better?

Please don't be like some who based on hear say and come here and start to condemn other brands.

You will need to compare the pricing of the bikes. Aprilia SR Max and Piaggio Nexus 300 are the same except for the branding and logo.

kymco's belt, rollers and u-clips last longer than the Italian counterparts.

you will need to read more about the bikes for yourself in order to choose the right one of ur choice.

We will be glad to assist you with any technical questions that you may have and not understand.

Okay here are the Dimotiv "Horny Poser Jan Parts" :)

The quality is very good and also pretty heavy weight.

The golden "jiffy-feed-enlarger" is also BIG and to me it seems that this gonna give extra stability if you having the scoot parked on soft/weak underground.

They even sent me a free gift (Blue mouth-mask) :)

I also included pictures from my other original Kymco accessories etc.

Hopefully the scoot will arrive next week by my dealer.

I don't like to see free space onto pic's so therefor I also included the Kymco parts :)

Just came back from my dealer I brought him the axe with crashpads, because I've seen pictures from fresh opened Kymco boxes and noticed that they keep the front wheel separated in the box,

and because I don't like to do double work the dealer now can mount this axe right away in once.

Cheers Jan

I have ridden the Gilera Nexus 300 and tried Xciting for a short test ride.

Can't compare in details as i did not ride xciting 400 long as i just hop on and do a short spin around carpark only.

You should try the bike out physically. Most important is your height.

For Aprilia SR Max 300 AKA Gilera Nexus 300, the seat height is very tall and wide. Have to move forward so as not to tip toes if below 1.7m height.

Aprila 300 is actually ~270cc if i remember correctly and Xciting 400 is ~399cc

Base on cc you can tell which will be a more powerful bike.

Since you are not into power then it is not important.

If you are, the Xciting wins hands down. In fact it is the best power to weight ratio scooter in the 400cc class at 36hp.

Silverwing is a few horses more but it's very heavy.

Aprila SR Max though it's 270cc, you can't feel that it is underpowered. In fact it is very smooth and before you know it you are already breaking the speed limit in the 100km/h range. Top speed about 140km/h.

Due to the smaller cc, Piaggio raise the rpm to about 6000rpm-7000rpm to pull the scooter hence the faster response and light feeling. The riding position is really bad for me putting strain on my wrist and I got so frustrated trying to find a comfortable position with the forward lean.

As for cornering, i don't and never feel comfortable cornering the Nexus as it doesn't give me that secure feeling like i am leaning too low due to the very high seat height.

Head on down to the Aprilia SR Max side and they maybe able to give you more info.

Comparison between the 2 you have to decide what you want

eg

price

looks

spare parts

reliability

resale

comfort

power

maintenance

ABS

Too bad you are not into Downtown 300 otherwise i can give you a good comparison.

The oil above that you mention are meant for cars using auto transmission. Different from scooters I'm afraid.

There are no transmission fluid in the Xciting 400.

What you are referring to is the gear oil, sometimes confused with transmission oil.

The oil here is not the transmission oil use for cars.

The oil for the gear is actually gearbox oil for manual transmission in cars.

The gear oil have a rating like 70W/90 or 70W140 for example. You have to know what rating your gear uses. The so called gearbox as in final drive gears are located beside the rear wheel which is part of the transmission assembly. Hard to explain :p

The oil bottle look something like this for example.

The rear gear/final drive is located at the rear that look something like this for illustration only.

And if you remove the housing/cover and open up the internals you will see something like this for illustration only.

http://www.cyclepedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/Sting-50-Service-Manual-164.jpg

http://www.cyclepedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/Super8_150_0537.jpg

The amount of gear oil is quite little for example 250ml only. You must check your user manual for the correct amount of oil to add if not too little will damage the gears and too much will cause drag and gear oil splashing out all over the rear wheels which is dangerous for yourself and other road user.

Hello acitmobile25,

just follow Parotae's advise: 70W-90 or 70W-140 or SAE 80W-90 ( API GL 4 PLUS)
