yup what Herculie said...he's gonna spray his bumper then call me with the bill. I think he won't overcharge me (hopefully) cos i did drive across the point that i'm a poor student and there's no way i can pay for any exorbitant cosmetic stuff on his car. He assured me it'll come up to about $200 or so.

 

Don't know any other shops to go to also.

 

 

hmmm...so ur gonna pay him?? juz curious, isnt is better, safer and cheaper to settle by insurance??? if lets say its ur fault, den claim under ur name lor...

thats where both party have to play fair abit la..

 

anyways, if the other party want u to pay the amount that u cannot afford, then ask him to claim from your insurance... just say u cannot afford...

 

one thing good abt private settle is.. (for small amounts) u still have ur NCD..

you will notice the BIG difference in having and not having NCD when it comes to buying insurance for your cl2 bike.....

I think its out of of the question for the fella to claim your insurance lo. Must report ALL accidents within 24 hours or go straight to IDAC for assessment. If you think the amount is reasonable then pay (i.e. 200-ish as "promised") if not.....there are consequences.....:o

guys, i wanna ask your opinion...lets say YOU are getting 2 bikes, one for transport to work and the other for weekends/leisure/tour, which 2 bikes would you get???

ehh...i'm REALLY hoping not..but this short term pay off is better than my premium potentially going up on the long run. which i probably can't afford.

 

thanks for the advice though. i'll try to get some concrete guarantee from him that he won't bankrupt my ass

erm, help guys!

 

got into an accident this morning on ecp, banged into a car. We agreed on a private settlement. My bike's front guard is bent, and the bike couldn't start. Got it towed to the bike shop near sch.

 

Is that guy known for ripping ppl's money? cos the last time i went there for EO change, he charged me $15

I have a lot of friends in your shoes.

 

My advice is to get the MOST CHEAPEST, economical bike..and that is..

 

WAVE.

 

Wave to go to work is economical. Don't believe? U notice how foreigners commute in and out of singapore using wave. And mind u, the whack their bike like crazy. (some define the fastest bike in s,pore is actually wave when they're otw back to jb).

 

Get wave. My strong advice. Don't need to go for looks. Go for economy!
