On my CB400F, the fuel level is indicated by 5 LCD bars. When only the last one remains, it will blink. The problem is that it blinks way too early -- around 200 km -- when the bike still has fuel for another 140 km. Is it possible to adjust this?

so when u want it to blink ? when it reaches 10mls of fuel ? the reserve meter is there for a purpose

just an option for u to consider.

i'm not sure whether it works for cb400 or s4, it depends on the type of sensor.

lowering the fork clamp by 10mm, tat means having fork extruded.

fuel level will inclined forward thus making the sensor read higher.

try n see whether it works or not, it works on my bike.

keep us posted on your result.

With 40% capacity left? That's too conservative, isn't it?

Remove the fuel level sensor from the tank. Bent the float arm up a little to the desired level. Unfortunately, this is a hit and miss thing and u may need to re-do this a couple of times to reach the required indicator mark.

hi,

i thought isn't it better to have more fuel then no fuel?

when u does the above mention method. i feel it is not advisable as the CG is totally different and u may juz run out of fuel earlier then u thought.

good luck

I think it should be bent the float down, so that the sensor position is same. but actual level is lower that before.

get the logic?

typically the fuel amount is control by resistance value. So you probably need to reduce the resistance value so that last bar will appear later.

if I were you, I wouldn't tamper with it.

Easier to hook up a potentiometer (variable resistor) and adjust the readout out that way.
