A big hello to all Bros & Sis!

I am a newbie, just purchased and will be collecting my first bike soon.

Would appreciate some tips and info on what I should look out for when collecting my bike.

Thanks in advance!

do all the checks on signals, brakes, horn etc exactly like center teach you.

check/ask where on the bike is the owner's manual. important.

before collecting, confirm location of nearest petrol kiosk. must go straight to top up, tank confirm near empty.

plan in your head your route home before you actually ride home.

It's true: it's more fun to ride a slow bike fast than to ride a fast bike slow. Admittedly, though... It is MOST fun to ride a fast bike fast!

Thanks for the tips Mechwira.

How do I ensure the bike I am getting is brand new? Have this fear the dealer might hand over a pre-owned or used bike.

in singapore it is highly unlikely that a dealer will cheat you by giving a pre-owned bike and passing it off as brand new.

for peace of mind, simply check the odometer. you cannot expect it to read 0km because it may have been ridden as a test in the factory, or as a test after assembly by the shop. nonetheless, it should not read anything above 50km. a pre-owned bike would read at least several thousand kilometers on the odo.

My feel is get used to the new bike by familiarising with the various switches positions and during the first few km of riding, get acquainted with the new bike's clutch, throttle, brakes etc. Be safe.

Thanks guys.

Was told by my friend, ODO meter can be reset and even Chassis/ VIN number also can be changed. *gulp*:pity:

Guess the best thing to do is pray hard hard.
