I'd go for the Icon Patrol jacket. It's $520 at Profile Asia (at Jln Besar).

Hey PeePz,

Thanks for the replies..

Based on your own experience, I need more recommendations of the brand and model of the jacket, not the shop

Maybe u can consider Dainese..

Quality product at affordable price

I pray to differ the word "Quality". Bot a riding Dainese pants about a year ago. After using only for 3 times it leaks.....no time to go to the shop to claim warranty....after a while then went down before the year warranty expires....then they took about two months to come back and now they ask for receipt....hell, i am not the type that keep receipts......

Guys, maybe its my fault for not keeping receipts, but as the pants looks brand new after only three wearing, the brand/manufacturer should look into this matter and arrest the issue....I am bringing this up as I even thought of getting two jackets but now am scared the "quality" will fail again....my thoughts don't frame me...hehehehehe.....

Don't buy that brand...Cheers

I wouldn't bother with a waterproof touring jacket. Will be damn hot cos of the waterproofing wax material. Get a normal mesh jacket and wear raincoat over it can already.

Hi all. I just got myself a RS Taichi Drymaster Team jacket from Motoworld for a promo price of $250 (RRP is $300). It's a fully waterproof armored jacket (CE-rated elbow and shoulder guards but crappy back protector which I replaced with a CE articulated Komine insert) with underarm and back vents. Double front zip ensures a rainproof seal, and the breathable waterproof outer shell is thicker than the usual Drymaster raincoats.

I'll be able to give a full review after I've used it for my Hat Yai road trip next week, but in the one test ride I've done so far it's done its job well enough. For $250, I don't think you can find a more affordable jacket that doesn't rely on a removable inner liner.

How's the review going?

The jacket is great! It was raining pretty much most of the way up to Hat Yai and back, and the jacket never leaked and was comfortable enough on the move, with the usual problem of heat buildup in this climate. I mitigated that somewhat by leaving the front as wide open as I could when it was sunny, and the underarm ventilation slits helped a little. Didn't get to try the impact protection, fortunately.

I'm still using it occasionally for my daily commutes when it's wet, but the amount of heat it generates on short rides makes it not worth wearing sometimes.

So those zippers in front does not allows much air to goes in? The jacket more suitable for long haul trips?

I AM BACK!!!!!
