anyone know how much it cost to change the whole switch assembly on the left handle?? The whole "thing" tat have the hi/low beam switch, horn and left/rite signal switch... and izzit a very common problem for the HI/low beam switch to burn easily if change back to the original push buttom type??

n benson.....im using Silkolene Pro4 Race Fully Syn....iz really smooth...no rough gears like "MuTHu" oil. but becoz all new oil feels so smooth..iz hard to say till i reach 2000km with it.

$75 for a brand new cbr left hand light switch assembly. it can turn off/on all yr lights with 3 postions ; off, postion lights, headlights. DLM's bike is fitted with this goodie....But.....$75 just to switch off yr lights?? iz abit Ex to me but u can b assured there will be no "burned switches" problems..

so if u are a cheapskate like me..but seems like u oredy did it.....The RVF left handle switch assy has sort of a plastic cover...its supposingly built for a switch. so what the mech did was removed the switchery circuit/wired from a old CBR with the plastic switch that came with it and integrated them into my left handle. downside is you can only Switch the Headlights off, not the postion n tail lights. oso...u might have those "burn switches" probs that some rvfers are complainin abt. but im fine so far.

bt090? comments i got so far is not that good.

mine is bt090.. jus got my bike for one month ..

the experience so far is that, everytime i go thru a bend that has those white lines liek arrows or zebra crossing.. i can feel the wobble at the wheel.. damn shaky and unsafe feeling. raining time is worse. perhaps i shld change to a better one even though my tyre still look like it can last a year or so.

guys.. i have some qn to ask. someone mention abt making the engine braking less strong for better cornering and handling .. how do u actually do that. my rvf's engine brake is rather strong, going downslope also can come to an almost standstill if i dun trottle..

and someone mention abt our bike at lower rpm (say less than 4k), the throttle and acceleration not so responsive .. like will vibrate and have choppy feeling... anyway to fix other than the usual half clutch control and slow release?

becoz of the strong engine brake and not-responsive throttle at low rpm... i find it difficult to do a smooth bend at low speed whenever i m doing a turn at carpark or sth like tt...i am not sure if my idea of doing a smooth bend in such restricted area is correct..normally what i did with my previous bike is that i will slightlly slow down and cup in the dirn with some throttle but with this rvf, due to the choppy acceleration at low rpm, i find it hard to do it anymore..feels like wobbling..dunno if u all get what i mean.

added with the lousy tyre i have now, i dun really dare to do those cornering i used to do..

hope some of u can give me some advice as to how i can overcome the above problems :help:

btw, anyone's rvf paintwork is that of the black ground with the 'west' word..

i exited pie at bt batok ave 3 on saturdat afternoon and i came right up to u and said hi.. if u r here ..hi again :bounce:

hey vroomx2...welcome to the club.

hehe you and a few others came at a time when most of the fellows here are upgrading to 600cc liao...:cheeky: ....but iz ok, im still here!!! :cheer:

ok back to yr prob..wat u mean by "choppy"?? and what bike were u previously on? if u came from a 2 stroke...you'll not be used to the strronger engine braking of a 4 stroke bike.

dun really understand yr corner theory in carpark but for me....manuevering in carparks is mostly done in 1st gear. Becoz RVF's 1st gear is what others call "tall" or "high" that is why although other bikes can merrily cruise along in 'restricted area' with 2nd gear, we have to make do with 1st gear, seldom go up yo 2nd unless that carpark is damn big like say the carpark at Carrefour. RVF beh tahan slow motion one.

as for the initial lag at low RPM....this has been discussed by the group..hehehehe..iz Normal and to solve it just WHACK open throttle. problem solved. not kidding.

tires not botak, not hardened yet..no need to change la....save $$. min thread depth is 2mm. less than that than change.

regardin the rest of yr handling complains; my advise is 4 strokes are different. they are heavier , they are abit more powerful and since u just got yr bike...u better take time to learn its behaviour and handling before you do go and "cup" hiongx2 corners.

happy riding.

i think bike which is 250cc and above only, u got to learn some clutch and throttle control in slow speed liao, dun expect to go round carpark slowly without clutch and throttle control and cup like a 2B, u had upgraded, its time to learn something new.

engine brake of course is heavy for a 2A bike especially gear 1 and gear 2.

when going round a bend in slow speed, u got to play with clutch and throttle too. cannot be lazy, use ur left hand.

try not to cup after 3 months, ask jungleboy, hehe.:cheeky::smile: :sian:

carb model bike i think mostly will have that choppy feeling and not responsive feeling as u describe. once again, learn the skill of clutch plus throttle control.

hey guys...how abt organising a inter-model outing with RVF's cousins...the PGMs or CBRs?? i think it'll be fun! :)

maybe this Torque movie meeting??

just a suggestion.:cheeky:

i think u r referring to the engine breather tube. yah it really reduce the engine braking effect. can be done at Sanfu or K&T for abt $45.
