Hey! any of u guys have the rear seat cowling (aka single seater) installed too? kinda hard to lock helmet after installin hor? sucks man...anyone has any remedies?

saw a pair R&G crash protectors (aka sliders here) that DO NOT require drillin of yr precious fairings. it features a strong straight thro bar that goes thro the bottom engine mount and exits at both side of the airducts at the lower fairings. i wound think this setup is stronger than the normal screw on motivation sliders.

however its goin for $300 a set sing la.

how many of u think its worth it? come to think of it...$300 is nothing compared to cracked fairings, dented tank, cost of respray. But Motivation sliders is only at $60, needs drilling of fairings however, it doesnt feature a straight thro rod thus dunno can protect engine casing or not.

any of u mounting sliders soon? i wana tag along see see look look leh.

:bounce:

hey u interested in it?

i m interested!!

mass order anione?

JP...did u see the pics?? Mika has sliders installed too! in theory his fairing shouldnt be so jialat leh...

have a look here for the slider kit. the Long metal rod is what goes thro yr bike under the engibe mount.

r we able to get the schematic measurements of the rods n stuff?

den we can diy from the motovations sliders...

i m able to fabricate the mount n the so called hangers if i have the exact measurements.

upon looking at the pics...i m pondering wat will happen if there is quite a big impact upon landing...will it bend the hangars? get wat i mean?

hmm? u can fabricate the hangers and rod ah? by what means? are u a mech student?

anyhooz..iz kinda Tough to get the measurements..i didnt see it in the R&G website which is the brand of the crash protectors.

The rod should be of a very strong type of steel alloy so as to withstand a certain amount of crash damage. as such the metal rod u use should be of similar strength.

btw....im kinda confuse...what does the hangers do anyway?

the hangars from wat i see r the 2 pieces of metal dat are used to 'extend' from the engine mount..

The reason why its so expensive is becoz of the strength of the through bolt, that can withstand the force exerted on it when the bike crash.

If you intend to DIY your own parts to theirs, you better make sure the bolt is of as good quality as theirs, else it defeats the whole purpose as the bolt might bend or collapse when bike crash and the sliders wont be able to protect anything.

Btw, I've put up the link to R&G's website quite some time ago... just that no one noticed it. you can scroll back and find it.

hehe, wan cheap and good stuff. no money...

jungleboy, how come cannot take again leh?

There was some problem with the gasket seals... When they switched on the engine... though it was running ok, engine oil leaked, so gotta let them settle that problem. Dunno if need tuning anot, if need to then must wait again.

My bike oso lay up oredi, so need to send for inspection, pay road tax then can go on the road again.

I'm not hoping for any deadline now, coz i've been disappointed far too many times.

Dun worry man, everyone will have its share.

Have to wait for some time (at least a mth) for the result. after this, de-register the bike first... then can start striping the bike.

I will start to take down the list once is confirm. :deal:

ken .. u winner.. turn out that i was the only one there :weep:

u all fly my airplane ar.....

btw, i found another rvf fren who happen to be there.. somemore happen to be from same school as me. abel.. if u happen to see this, reply here.. yet to know what is your nick.

btw, i ask abel his rvf fuel consumption.. he said his is ard 240km reach reserve.. but for me, i reach reserve at ard 180.. wah lau, such a diff.. i wonder what could be the cause :giddy: :giddy:

Guys pai sei huh, 1 by 1 down today, in the end no one is left but vroomvroom is sacrificed. hope that everyone will check forum again b4 u go out for meeting next time. hahaha.

but frankly lah, u go down there huh, u really will think to urself, nb... might as well go mah motor see better.

they just transfer their bike there only.

as for vroomvroom, i m very sorry lah..

next time see u, sure treat u a drink.

ur fuel eat so fast might be due to ur carb not tune properly to original stock tuning.

if not is u drag from gear to gear liao lah.

if not, is ur bike lack of power thus ur bike eat more fuel to got power.

is ur air filter stock air filter for rvf? and tuning is stock tuning too?

waa!!! yr fren abel's bike so fuel economical ah? thaz like 20 KM/ Litre leh!

My bike At best can manage 19.3 KM/L only..well maybe the reserve can go further but i dun dare to try more 30KM on reserve.

mine usually averages around 220KM +/- 2 or 5 km b4 hit reserve. standard one..no matter how i ride it. if i guai guai can hit 223km la....but never 240 leh!!!!!!!!!

what plate is yr fren's rvf?? coz u know.....the fuel comsumption will increase as a bike/car ages.

so i think 220 still aint bad..heehee....

(1) the fuel tank is 15l then reserve is 2l so total is 17l or 15l oradi include reserve?

(2) my consumption is at abt 13l for 210km so is abt 16km/l

BTW cheh-san u mean ur consumption calculation is from full tank to reserve can travel abt 220km rite.
