wad abt bt090??? i been considering abt bt090 n gpr70... i prefer bt tyres

Info: So far saw 2 rvf riders buang using BT090. Use to be good tyres in olden days. Very stickly when new. Alot of grip on the ground. Start to wear out after half a year. By then, better watch out while cornering...

For both track & road use, GPR70 is the best pick. Can last up to 9 mths or so. Good grip, stickly throughout. The bad point is tat this tyre get out of shape easily. Often cornering helps to maintance its shape.

If u wanna get BT, go for BT010. Better than BT090. Can last up to a year. Also good for cornering...

If i never remembered wrongly, BT010 is for 600cc and above...not recommend for 400cc.

True, BT010 were made for 600cc above. But then again, alot ppl use it on 400cc. I tried before, somehow abit heavier. But nevertheless in term of cornering, grip & lifespan, It add alot of goods than bad. Therefore overall this tyre still can make it.

U must try or else u wounldn't know. ;)

I agree with u totally,dlm....Tried before MEZ1 & BT010,but still find BT010 better in terms of cornering, grip & lifespan. Though you will find riding abit uncomfortable & funny when the tyres r still new....Overall,it's really a very gd tyres.....Proven on RVF & CBR

bt010 are after all Z rated tyres... they r rated for a purpose not for nothing. Thus, its still better to stick to H rated tyres for 400cc, IMO. It seems that the front tyre of bt010 tends to get wrapped easily, judging by the many cases of such. I used gpr70 on my previous CBR.. its a very good tyre during dry... very value for money! And bt090 was not bad too.. but definitly not as good and sticky as gpr70, but still acceptable for the money u paid for.

Designed by CTDM, this tyre incorporates the MS Belt. Developed exclusively for big bikes, the BT-56 is a high-grip sport radial for sporty riding on streets.

TECHNICAL INDEX

Construction

MS-Belt (rear tyre)

Compound

A high-grip DAC compound offers high-level grip performance in dry weather, good initial grip and respectable grip at low temperatures.

Shape

Optimum tyre cross-section shaped by CTDM offers solid braking performance and good cornering stability, as well as superb shock absorption.

Optimum balance

The construction, shape and compound of the front and rear tyres have been balanced in an optimum way to allow delicate and exact handling of the bike on a circuit, such as leans at extreme angles, quick turns, easy-line tracing, and smooth shifts from rise to turn-backs.

* Designed by CTDM (advanced automatic design technique).

:nono: Z rated versus H rated has no effect on 400cc bikes. the rating is for the maximum speed the tyre can endure. H - 150mph , Z - over 170mph.

;) The main difference is that generally H rated tyres are lighter than Z rated tyres because they don't have to be build as strong.

You should find H rated tyres more responsive (faster steering) because of reduced centrifugal force.

If you guys running Dunlop GPR70s find that your rear tyre "deforms" which actually means the centre portion of the tread gets flat faster than the sides, you are probably running too low pressure,

OR you should not be using this tyre cos it's for RACE use,

:p IMO, z rated tires have stiffer tyre carcass than h rated tires because supersports bikes have much more torque being produced and a stiffer tyre carcass is needed to handle it. thus a 400cc bike might not have enough horsepower and torque needed to create sufficent friction to effectively heat up z rated tires. u might be able to heat them up in our local hot weather , but during cool weather or rainy days? and tyres need to be fully warmed up to be at their best and do their jobs. ;)
