waa.....yr rect spoil liao ah?

where did u get yr new rectifier from? i heard from some frens...those new rectifiers for S4 verison S now comes with cooling "fins" to help dissipate heat better n eliminate the overheat problem. i wonder if they do the same for RVF rects too?

does yr new rect comes with cooling 'fins' too?

anyway where u change it out at? cheap n good recommend me!

btw..will PM you when i gona start out my Rect Mod but must look at DLM's bike 1st.....sighhh....

ur friend their rect ki chia is it becos they using the white headlight?

if yes sure ki chiat.

unless u got 2 battery.

call ur friend go K&T lah, but must go in the morning if not he sure wont serve u cos there short of man power.

my bike electric problem oso clifford solve lah but i think must put ur bike there at least a day. trouble shooting electric problems isn't easy.

rect dying systoms is when u feel ur battery very weak, then is becos not enough charging.

cheh san, when u get ur bike, remember to check the spark plug cable is the original blue colour cable if not power will be deducted. only original rvf cable is blue in colour and is from spilt fire. must tok till he give u or at least discount for u. and the blue cable got 2 type, short and long. only long will fit in. must check. some ppl change the cable to cbr cable, then the cable will be black instead of blue.

call more ppl go with u to play gangster. :D

and when u on the bike and see the neutral lights is it blinking if yes then means the device where all the electric current of the bike meets and distributed is spoil. must change that.

:nono: Z rated versus H rated has no effect on 400cc bikes. the rating is for the maximum speed the tyre can endure. H - 150mph , Z - over 170mph.

;) The main difference is that generally H rated tyres are lighter than Z rated tyres because they don't have to be build as strong.

You should find H rated tyres more responsive (faster steering) because of reduced centrifugal force.

Just found a post that is useful and very informative. :D

:giddy: waa!! how to see the sparkplug cable?? when i view bike that time...didnt notice the sparkplug cable...will i be able to see by peering through the side fairing lobangs?

anyway..too late oso..i got the bike lioa!

by the way..what is that thing u said current distrubutes called? and when you say Neutral lights blinking...u mean it blinks like our turn signal indicator? or blink like fluctuations in brightness?

today after work..start bike warming up while i was folding my poncho....suddenly the bike engine died.....i didnt know what happened....i pull choke liao ..like no effect.

keep starting bike a couple of times..cannot start....lights n everything seems ok....then i shake shake the bike....turn the fuel reserve button a couple of times (it is in ON all this time with full tank)...then it decided to let me go home n started!! walau....heng man.

does the above sounds like a FAULTY rectifier to you guys?

pls zhi dian mi jing... other than that...my babe is not bad for a 5 yr old bike.

:D

experience the same problem like yours when i got my bike dat time....the problem could be 'fuel clot'.....dun ask me wat's dat cos i dun really know how 2 explain.....something like the fuel can't get through 2 let ur engine keep running....

if u encounter dis prob again, try push start ur bike & faster go back 2 the bike shop where u got ur bike....get them 2 fix it 4 u....i believe got the so called warranty rite? If it's really 'fuel clot', get it done or else u will still have the same problem again.....It's really frustrating 1 lor

Neutral light blinking .............. Could be the small switch just below ur rear brake. Just ask ur mechanic to put a washer to the switch will solve the problem. Engine die because the neutral was off and the safety switch kick in. Hope this helps.

it is the brightness blinking.

after i change the current thingy the lights wont blink in brightness liao.

when i take out that time, mine is burnt and the connector had melted very chiat lut liao.

that doesn't cost much lah, like ard $50.

u must take out the rider seat to see the blue cable.

actually cheh san, i recommend u to change the rectifier and battery rite away, cos u wouldn't wanna bike to die and cant start rite?

u wouldn't change things when u wanna sell ur bike laio bah.

and even if dun change rect, oso change battery lor. so can monitor the time to change new 1. ask mec to see what rect u using now. if is the rubber type, see got crack anot. if got mean can change liao.

if is the new metal stripe 1 then continue lor.

the battery tok till change lah.

must at least get a free battery from the shop.

remember never change the light to the white 1 even if the voltage intake is the same with the original 1 cos current intake will be different.

original bulb is 60/35W

u check ur bulb see is it 60/55W if yes, pls change back to original by OSRAM.

and it is highly recommended to install a headlight switch. cos rvf is highly dependant on electrical flowing. and starting of the bike and head light is the highest electric intake.

so when u warm up ur bike can swict off ur lights.

recommended place to do the switch is K&T as clifford will help u install a relay so that the switch isn't dealing directly with the power supply.

the switch cant take it, and most bike shop do just that, it will make ur bike short circuit which heard complains about that. so must put relay.

unless u change to like SP bike the switch which cost lot more ask dlm for information. very good. i oso very tempted.

and try not to pull choke.

hello , thx for the advise... i would like to change out my RECT AND BATT too..but i need to delay this as my lights are still very bright..no sign of electrical probs yet.....becoz now i got more URGENT matters on my hand!

my handlebars are vibrating (slightly..not alot but quite annoying)..turns out my Fork oil Leaking and front wheel bearings spoil... nahbeh....no wonder i get the feeling my left handle bar slightly heavier....i'm getting my mech to install new ignition coz i wana change out the key (jst in case) ;)

im not gona ask for the batt from the shop becoz i know they wont give me....(sad story)....not goin back there other than for installments.

hmm? Clifford at K&T? got chance i will try him out but UBI very far fro me leh!

:weep: hehehe..if i say i kena intro by this forum got discount or not?

thank you all for yr valueble info on RVF;s electrical sys...appreciate it alot :cheer:

one other thing...i was comparing my RVF to a fren's RVF and i notice my fuel tank there....Vibrate quite abit more than my fren's bike when the engine is at idling..both bikes idling RPM the same...yet mine has more vibration and sounds higher tone too....oso...we swap bikes and agreed...although the slight vibration at idle....my RVF somehow has more Horsepower ( of coz i cant measure la..but we feel my bike is faster)

i wonder what the previous owner did? :? hmmm....the mystery deepens!! hehehe..will keep u guys updated if i find out what mods were made.

BTW...anyone can tell me why my bike vibrate more during idling? is my engine gg to KI CHIA?? (TOUCH WOOD!!!!)

(PS and ken! i wana pull CHOKE oso cannot!! that time i told my bike cannot start right? i pull CHOKE...No effect one!! later when bike started...CHOKE PULL N DONT PULL..no diff one leh!! wonder if my choke cable snapped.) :pity:

fuel tank vibrate maybe becos the rubber gone liao.

handle bar 1 side heavier?

sad to say but it is becos ur handle bar alignment go towards 1 side liao.

u can try it by letting go of both hands and u will see ur bike move towards 1 side.

no way to remedy it unless u wanna change handle bar and fork?

i noe of 1 way to remedy this but ur alignment will never be straight but will be able to go straight without either hand feelin heavier.

u must see me to remedy it.

cos i oso like that.

or anyone noe how to do it can help him out too.

it hurts.

kekeke :D

handle bar vibrate when moving is becos oil shield, fork oil, and steering cone. if after this 3 things change liao still like that then u see ur tyre need to change anot if not, just pump more air still cannot? cfm ur fork kanna press b4. let it be. unless u wanna change ur fork. might as well save up for class 2.

hello !

just got back from changing the three stuff..fork seals, wheel bearing and steering cone..... :giddy: 5 hour job!! :giddy:

now handle bars are behaving quite well at speed of 100km/h liao...not as much vibration as before. front suspension oso firmer...(too firm haha)

however...on the way home..i tried releasing both hands...feell the bike always leaning to the left side....dunno y!?! Ken! you know how to correct this prob ah? teach me can? does it involve mechanic or self help can liao?

Engine issue; Huat Kueh... yr RVF leak oil isit becoz u change 4T never tighten the drain nut properly? this is the simplest thing i can thnk of....maybe u wana check that out 1st?

:?

Ken, my fuel tank rubber still there leh! can see from outside...still there.

i oso checked out my ignition cable like u said...iz BLUE!! heehee. everything is pretty much original.

hmm....if possible when u guys meeting up ah? i wana compare my engine sound. coz i get the feeling my engine is slightly noisier than others...like got a slight 'tick tick tick' sound..... what could be wrong? or isit normal? My mech say RVF is like this. someone else told me it may be becoz of loose conrods! :giddy: but i know for cars....if u have this tick tick sound coming from engine ..it means sparkplugs not firing or installed properly......dunno in the case of RVF is what?

 PLS aHHH!! MAI AHHH!!!! dun be a conrod problem!
