wats a MRA bubble that you mention?thx.your top is only 215km or you mean the km/hr marking is equavilent to that speed?i heard most rvf riders can hit 230+ max.thx :cheer:

 

MRA bubble is actually the wind shield lor....It's an after market product....It does give ur bike a better outlook & does serve a purpose when u r travelling at high speed....

experience the same problem like yours when i got my bike dat time....the problem could be 'fuel clot'.....dun ask me wat's dat cos i dun really know how 2 explain.....something like the fuel can't get through 2 let ur engine keep running....

 

if u encounter dis prob again,try push start ur bike & faster go back 2 the bike shop where u got ur bike....get them 2 fix it 4 u....i believe got the so called warranty rite? If it's really 'fuel clot', get it done or else u will still have the same problem again.....It's really frustrating 1 lor

Hi look like my bike got dis pro 2 so hw much to solve it n wat e mech do to solve it?? :confused: :confused:

 

pai seh pai seh....dis happened abt 2yrs ago liao wen i jus got my bike....so 4get how much 2 repair & wat the mech did liao....u can go down K&T 2 ask clifford check ur bike 4 u....he's the 1 who helped me solve it....

JUST NICE!! abt this topic of BIKE CANNOT START!!

 

today after work, my bike cannot start again!!! pull choke, no effect..adjust idling rpm oso no use...shake shake bike oso no use....till a fren helped me push start and it started!!! im freakin embarrassed!!! pushin start in the carpark. very pissed off now.

 

someone mentioned Fuel Clot ah? sighh.....i dunno what is wrong....electrical wise...lights all very strong..nothing is varying in brightness. just that when cold...VERY hard or cannot start at all!!

 

i think i will bring the bike back to the shop 2molo and tell them to fix it.

BTW...i hit 100km/h no more vibrate liao..but hit 120,.... vibration again and engine like very stress like that..coz the sound is like "GRRRRRRRRRRRRHHHHHH"" like a angry tiger growling..hahaha!! and bikejust dun feel smooth at all at that speed. is this normal for a V4 engine?

JUST NICE!! abt this topic of BIKE CANNOT START!!

sighhzz....i read some of the previous posts...almost all the problems i encounter some of the guys here encountered too!!

 

my bike at 1st can start...then must hold the throttle for very long time..if let it die...it will be very hard to start again. or cannot start at all.

cheh_san : I think we should organize an outing, then you can ask all the RVF lao jiaos at once about all your problems, can let them see the problem physically also. So you dont have to think of how to type out the problem over the forum.

as for the "Cannot Start" problem.....this evening dont have liao.....one start only! hehehe..dis mornin brought my babe back to the motordiam i chud bike from and the mech there did some cleaning of my spark plugs ( i didnt wana change coz they say wana charge me!!! some 'warranty'!!!)

, adjust my caburettor...dunno what he do la.. he say adjust the "feng" in chinese means wind. isit the carb settings? :? he got a L shaped tool and went underneath the carbs turn turn turn....no ok liao......but the ah bye lost one of my Fuel Tank Rubber piece!!

For the so-called warranty, it's like dat 1 lor....they oni promise no charges 4 the workmanship but they will charge u 4 the replaced parts.....

 

Charges of oil depends on the brand lor....tink the cheapest of the best oil K&T have is BP Vistra(purple colour 1) costs abt $18 or $20 if i'm not wrong. Denso sparkplugs is $16x4=$64. Tink curb tuning is $70 duno inclusive of washing anot.....Aw the prices i state is base on my poor memory 1 lah might not be accurate......I tink ken might have a better idea.....

 

As 4 the outing, best can make it next weekend lor....cos by dat time most probably get back my bike liao.... :smile:

lost the rubber? got tell him to replace at least a rubber anot? if not ur tank how. baby shake ur bom bom ah?

 

next time dun push start.

 

on bike but dun press electric start.

 

clutch in

kick to gear 2

push the bike backwards for 4 times or more.

kick back to neutral or start bike with electric start.

if still cannot start. pls dial tow car service. :D

 

not smooth?

sound heavy?

got power anot?

 

when u open valve sure got sound 1. our bike not slient killer. keke.

u every full tank liao then rev for once lor. lack of reving sure not smooth.

$70 is inclusive of washing.

4T? try using MOTUL 300V 15W/50---> tis is important.

he selling $23 i think but ah bee seling $20 fix.

clifford is must say say abit. hehe

 

boh wei gong really super good for my RVF i must say.

better than the former Castrol R4 i used!~ Peng Tio!~

Just some info of engine care which i came across when surfing the SHELL website....tink might b useful 2 aw of us....though it's 4 cars 1 but find dat it works 4 bikes oso lor.....

Yes. The start-up period is the time when the engine experiences the most wear. By accelerating it before the oil reaches the top of the engine cylinders -- five or more seconds depending on the vehicle -- you can do a considerable amount of damage and speed up engine wear.

No. When you rev the engine you introduce a fresh charge of fuel and air into the engine. When the motor stops, the fuel mixture just introduced washes the lubricating oil away from the cylinder walls. When you next start the car, there is no oil protection and the piston rings wear heavily on the cylinder walls.

ya heard of it b4.

when u heard ur engine when started cold,

warming up ur bike is to let the engine oil go to places which it is to protect.

i always saw ppl start bike rev imediately to prevent bike from dying, i heart pain for them.

 

if engine like dying soon, then u open abit but dun more than rpm dun be more than 1k can liao.

 

like my bike when start cold rpm is pointing at 0.

so must open till 500 like that after start bike 5 secs and then rev till 500 for 5 secs then okie liao.

 

cheh san if ur bike really feel noisey u like me lah. when bike is hot, tune the rpm till 800 then the sound redue dratically.

There is a rectifier problem with RVF. I changed 3 sets of recifiers and batteries in one and half years of ownership. For my case, I tried installing the CPU fan on my rectifier on two occasions, but it didn't help.

 

same problem with the NC30. When I went to Malaysia, I brought along spare rectifier. This is what I changed last time

 

Rectifier - 3

Batteries - 5

Spark plug - Countless

Coil - 1

CDI - 1

 

In the end, it stops after I spent $700 and changed the CDI. Yeah petrol consumption is high

 

Having said that, I loved the tall gear. That is something I really missed. You can drag first gear to max without the bike screaming to tell you to stop. Great in jams too, no need to change gear. The the sound of the V engine is wonderful to my ears.

 

Those who still or want to use, my only suggestion is to use Motul 300V. It was the best engine oil I have used with the NC30.

yea...their 'warranty' suck ass!!! nagbeh. today the mech opened up the fuel tank check spark plugs ( i told him to) that time..i was shocked!!

you all know the part where the air filter comes off and there is these 4 trumpet-like things inside facing up with valves?? (dunno what u call)...around that area,,,iz stained RED!!! like from poor petriol or malaysia petrol!!!

 

the mech asked me ."what petrol u use??" i retorted " WHAT PETROL YOU ALL USE>?!>!>!" he diam diam...then later say ..."petrol red doesnt mean no good......"blah blah...full o f shit stuff la.....

 

take out spark plug that time oso got the red stains on the plugs!!!

 

GUYS!! what the hell is that??? some bad petrol grade orr isit the engine oil?? looks yucky. will it be bad for my 1998 bike?? :sian:

 

today after the stupid mech 'adjust; my carb...feels less "choked up" feeling....but there is a small FLAT SPOT at 3-4K RPM. but im ok with it la..after that is really smooth.

 

i opened the bike all the way to 9K RPM today to clear any buildup of the bad petrol or carbon or whatever shit is inside the carbs or engine....now the bike is breathing better. :sweat:

 

as for the noises....i f@rk care liao ......

 

and i did adjust the idilinh rpm...thatz y bike keep dying...i will leave it as it is.

:D went 140 at SLE just now...quite siok.....ARRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! sounded abit like Rossi's bike leh!!

dude..how the ppl at K&T tune yr carbs?? isit by adjusting some screws underneath the CARBS? do they use a mercury balancer ( with four balls jumping up n down) or do they just go by listening??

 

best is they got use some sort of measuring equipment to tune.

anyway..how is their tuning?? smoooth ? any flat spots or hiccups?

if tuning is good there..i will go down on Monday.
