Just a doubt to be cleared up guys!

 

There's this FS plate RVF which I know has power cut unlike the later FN/FM RVF. Where does the powercut lies in? Is that anyway to derestrict a FS RVF? Heard abt this thingy called M-Max for CBR, can it be use for RVF too?

Got a few questions to ask though :

1) Where can I get fairings cheap? (One side got scratch)

 

2) Where can i get the best deal to repair the bike(meters, other parts etc)?

a) The metal part that secures the air vent is broken, and the left side of the thing holding the meter is broken too.

 

3) How much pressure do you all normally pump your tires?

 

4) I know rvf gets really hot, but how hot is an accetable hot, and when do i have to be careful of the heat? Coz esp going in lower gears during jams, heat indicator shoots up.

 

5) What is an acceptable warm up time for the bike?

 

6) Roughly at what rpm do u all change up gears?

 

7) My direction indicator lights - one side blink faster than the other when i ON the headlights and both indicators. But blinks the same when i OFF the headlights and the indicators.... Can this be rectified?

33 psi for front, 36 psi for rear

mine usually below the half-way mark.. only once hit 3/4...

 

5) What is an acceptable warm up time for the bike?

FIVE mins

6) Roughly at what rpm do u all change up gears?

4-5kRPM

1) Not sure... LAb maybe as wad superlover said

2) recommended is K & T @ Ubi. Many of th Rvfdians frequent there.

2a) the metal part i'm not sure... whereas for the meter, it cant be fix. had to use a cable tie to secure it.

3) 33psi for front & 36psi for the rear ( 150 tyre size )

4) mostly more than ½ when in jam.

5) ard 5 mins

6) depends on individual.

Coz esp going in lower gears during jams, heat indicator shoots up. er... u got change ur engine oil to MOTUL 300V 15W/50? cos this engine oil can make ur bike feel less hot than how it should be hotty like 1/2 when ur meter shows 3/4. VIP: make sure the readings is 15W/50 not 10W/50 or 5W/40.

 

5) What is an acceptable warm up time for the bike? er... i dun noe how hot it should be lah, but if got time i wait till a hunki smoke finish lor or u see the temp meter touch the 1st rectangle can liao. idling try to put at least 1k when warm up liao then adjust to 1k. too low not good to bike. for me lah. but if really late liao, then u hear the engine sound smooth liao then can go liao loh.

 

6) Roughly at what rpm do u all change up gears? 4-5k normal but it depends on ur riding style lah. do not necessary follow any range. u will noe lah.

 

7) My direction indicator lights - one side blink faster than the other when i ON the headlights and both indicators. But blinks the same when i OFF the headlights and the indicators.... Can this be rectified? go find clifford at K&T, i trust all my electric stuff even the simplest wiring thingy to him.

 

but all this is my opinion wor, wait bike spoil dun find me wor. find martini got 1 month warranty ah.

 

PS: our parts actually quite X so is better u check the pricing with us liao then see which shop more cheap and good. if not will be like me kanna "TOR" like carrot cake.

Got prob, as wat revolution says, need something to hold the balancer cos original throttle inside is empty. Therefore we need to make a trip down K&T c how they do it. Another alternative is to take a look at jungleboy's bike. Dunno whether he free anot.
