did u get a headlight switch? if no, pls do it ASAP!!!.

Your rectifier got change anot? if yes, is it change into the bigger rectifier which got metal stripes type or just rubber surface type? metal stripes better.

and lastly, did u check ur magenetic coil? if no? check it out.

if the mech said must change, pls make sure u saw the magnetic coil is partitially chao tar, i not, call him to put back cos that magnetic coil cost more than a hundred or few hundred i think.

anyway the metal stripes rectifier cost me $135 liao :D

after all this still cant solve problem?

always have a spare battery on ur rear seat just in case ur battery die flat in thailand next time. haha.

but now come to think of it, most probably is ur rectifier or magnetic spoil liao cos it seems to fail u only when u go for long trips, that means that ur charging of battery is not there and over the long journey, the charging is not enough to support the usage.

and r u switching on ur headlights when u go kulai or KL that time?

if yes, that explain all.

 ken...finally wana cover yr baby up liao ah? hehehehe now u believe the pillion seat very spacious one right? hehehehe.

anyway....a useful info.....for those of you RVFers (pronounced Rev-ers) who experiences " EEKKK....OrrHKK.....EEEKK....Orrkk" somewhere underneath yr butt whenever your rear suspension travels up and down....get it greased right away! it is tthe top bolt securing the rear shock underneath the battery.

my mech took the axle out and regreased it....it was so bloody dry like Maxi that the bolt showed some chafing signs!

get it done pronto if yours is squeekin bad.. or else the axle bolt will slowy grind away until it shears off...not a good scenario. besides iz only less than $20.

am a happy man now! hehehehe

:D

hiz!

hiz fellow rvfians!

currently i am riding a FP plated RVF...

at june this year, my RVF's battery failed me when i was in Kulai makaning wif frens. that time after finishing dinner abt to go back to s'pore, when i pressed the "start" button, the bike gave out a 'bllzzzzzzzzz' sound and it did not crank at all. it gave the bllzzzzzzzz sound whenever i pressed the "start" button.the headlights were abt to switch on though.able to push start the bike straight to my motortiam at Ubi.

my mechanic concluded it wif battery failure and changed my battery and my bike ran all right until Nov 15 when the battery failed again wif similiar symptoms but right in the middle of KL!

no choice got to push start my bike all the way to s'pore at the petrol kiosks where i need to refuel my RVF.

reached s'pore ok and my mechanic again concluded it wif battery failure.

juz wanna ask u guys what can cause my RVF's battery to fail twice?

thanks guys!

Maybe u got the same "funny" problem as mine.

My start button inside "something wrong" so, if wan to start, can only press it halfway. If press fully, u will hear the "wanna start" sound then when it passes the half press mark, aft that, like the low batt sound.... Hope u understand wad I'm tryin to say.

I LOVE my R1!!!:shades:

hi ken!

yes i did install a headlight switch. my current bulb is 12V/35W. i did not switch on my headlights except at night (not even daytime and risk being caught by the white losers).

yes i will try to check my coil asap.

original rectifier (the one wif rubber surface type) costs ard $160 is it? where can i get the metal stripes rectifier?

yeah i did switch on my headlights on my way to Kulai but i did not switch on the headlights on my way to KL.

luckily this problem did not occur on my Frasers hill trip or else......

ps:seen a mobile speed camera(those van type) along Lornie Rd towards macrithie reservoir yesterday afternoon. Be careful when riding there guys!

of course is original RVF rectifier. and to the better type which is the metal stripes type. more durable.
