I have overlooked this area yesterday and thos who have auto-roaming please state down ur HP no below so that if anything, we can call each other should we get seperated.

SAFETY SIGNAL:

As a way of communicating during the ride, the signal for relaying a hazard signal to the Lead Bike from the back is 3 intermittent horns. This signal is only meant to be relayed to the Lead Bike.

 

For ur own clusters, just horn or use hand signals will do.

 

Pointers on cluster riding:

Ride within ur cluster and keep ur cluster within ur sight whether its front or back..

If one of ur riders in ur cluster is stuck at traffic light, wait for him in front. If the lead bike is just in front of you, use hazard signal to ask him to wait. SHould the lead bike be NOT within ur sight in this scenario, do not panic, you should still wait for your fellow cluster rider after the red light and then proceed on going straight. Route markers will be at turning junctions so if u dun see one, DON'T turn!

 

And try not to overtake the cluster in front of you so as to maintain a proper riding formation and for other good measures. But u may overtake each other withing ur own cluster as long as can you can see each other.

 

However, in case for watever reason you feel that u are really lost even when u are going straight, just wait by the roadside. The Sweeper will come along and guide you along the way.

 

The roads in Msia are forever changing because they simply cannot make up their minds how to contruct their road system. That is why it is CRUCIAL to lookout for route markers as there may be a road diversion and out of a sudden we have to make a right or left turn.

 

Keep your speed within a safe limit. I wouldn't say how fast or slow, just ensure ur cluster is insight and you have enough time to react in case u suddenly see the route marker pointing to a turning junction.

 

OVERTAKING:

 

This is the most dangerous part of the journey especially along the one laned-two way trunk roads.

 

Overtake only when u can see a straight and clear road in front of you. Whenever u hear a small voice inside u saying that u can't make it, DON'T!

 

Along the trunk roads there is also the road shoulder which provides enough space for a bike to pass thru. Use this only when u can see in front is clear.

 

DON'T:

Overtake along bends

Overtake when u can't see the road in front (when approaching a hill)

Overtake a loooong stretch of vehicles at a time.

 

IN CASE OF ANY EMERGENCY(TOUCHWOOD!!)

 

The Sweeper will come across the incident and stay there. The ERP must then overtake ALL clusters and Route Markers to inform the Lead Bike to stop immediately.

 

Incidents in which ERP can be deployed:

 

1) Any rider unable to ride due to sudden sickness

 

2) Any major accident

 

Therefore, when u see the ERP zooming past you, please be prepared to stop behind the Lead Bike. Hopefully the ERP need not be deployed.

 

Gathering Points

 

There will be three gathering points throughout the journey including the one after the Msian Customs before the big U-turn. This is to ensure noone is lost.

 

After having said all the above precautions, there is only one point left. Lookout for one another when riding and do not ride in a manner that pose a danger to one another. Let's enjoy this trip safely guys so that we can return home happy, satisfied and fulfilled.

well stated manzz.

 

I'll recommend horning twice if u got a sudden uncontrollable cramp on ur right wrist to turn thruttle (WOT). Also signal ur intention to overtake on the left or right. so the rider in front know where to swerve.

 

So when u hear ppl horn, hold on tight don't swerve left or right. check mirror then swerve to the other direction. then let the order party w cramp in the wrist pass 1st, b4 u cramp as well. : )

would rather be in the cluster wor ....... but wat speed would ur like me to maintain,cause in the early morning i think might not have much cars on the road but anything pls cal or msg me cause i going to work now,wont be checking the internet anymore,later i go gf house overnite and she dont hav internet access over there.

hmmm... I would recommend horning continuously with a pauses... until u catch hold the attention of the person infront.

 

then once the leader got the msg, he will switch on hazard lights and slowly move to the left and stop....

 

So the most important thing here is to relay the horns.. =)

 

juz a suggestion so that watever speed ure going at, u will still b able to hear the horning. in future tourings...
