Don't you guys feel that sports bike is tiring on the back?

Not if u rest your chest on the petrol tank... That's the purpose of the tank... To rest your chest...

Personal preference. Been riding sport bike most of the time. Just need to get use to it. There are some sport bikes which is more back and wrist friendly. But as I get older, I too feel the strain. So got a hyper tourer instead.

Yup... I 24, but my back cannot make it Liao... Maybe previous accident cause it to be like this... But oh well, life is short... I just try to maximize the time spent on earth so cars, always jam waste time... Bikes save time... Lol...

Asking the forum for bike recommendation is like asking us to choose GF or Wife for you. Only you know what you like and not us. Go look around the bike shop and see which bike you like. Go with an experience friend whom can help with your decision. I can see you are leaning toward sport bike. If you want 1st hand cl2 bike which does not burn a hole in your pocket, go for the 2013 CBR600RR. It the cheapest Cl2 sport bike in the market. I personally rode my friend one before, I think quite value for money if you asked me. But I still cannot tahan the old skool meter, thats all.

hmm hi kinwei, sorry about that. i not asking u all to choose gf or wife for me.just that alot models or sportsbikes i dont know. so i asking someone to teach me here .about the pricing for 1st hand and 2nd hand . i used to aim yamaha r6 3years ago.. but heard alot people said its problematic bike. so i think of changing idea. i may not need to buy 1st hand 1 . but at least a well maintained bike .

I've ridden and owned several cl2 bikes over the years. From jap to Italian. R6 overall is still my fav bike. Get the 08 models and above.

Eh no need to apologise. You are entitled to your view in a public forum. If you like the R6, go to the R6 thread and find out more information from the riders themselves. I am sure there are a lot happy R6 riders around with "problem" free bikes as well. Don't trust those hearsay. Those R6 riders will give you a better insight of what to expect.

If you want to buy 2nd hand bike, I will advice you to buy through direct seller. Bring along an experience friend and chat with the seller. If the seller knows his bike inside out and is not afraid to show you all the negative stuff and the maintenance record, most likely the bike should be okay. Of course provided there is no obvious tell tale sign of faulty components.

And like it or not, no bike is perfect. But with problems, then you will learn more. But of course, learn logically. In times to come, you will be the one giving the advice to the newbie!

I buffered a few hundred dollars to change some parts for my current 2nd hand Honda Cub (Dunno how to spell). It'll be wise if you do so. The Cub has been serving me well the past 2 years. Now I have my Class 2A, I am changing new bike. But it's always wise to buffer some extra money to finetune any 2nd hand bikes.

Hi guys, i m getting Class 2 licence now. I do know much on class 2 bikes. so i need some experience guys to give advice.

i looking for

-Sporty bike

-Easy to maintain ( not everytime this spoil tat spoil)

-Should buy new or old bikes?

-good pickup speed

-not too expensive :

those those how knows the market price may help me here . thanks you !

I am currently in the same situation as you but with some slight differences. I just passed my TP and I'm on the lookout for bikes, seeking advice from friends and forums. First is know what is your bike intended purpose ie posing, daily commute, for work or frequent track machine? I know I'm just someone who wanna just use my bike for weekend kopi session and I would like something more unique so can pose around, lol

Second is finance. You working PT, FT or studying getting pocket money? Maybe "easy to maintain" May not be a proper start point, you should be looking for bikes that are cheap to maintain in terms of parts price. Jap bikes have plenty of parts around hence the lower price and shorter waiting time. Timeout at the workshop also incur cost like taking cab etc. Italian parts are not that much more exp but it's the waiting time. You go workshop can see more jap parts than Italian parts so the fix is faster. No bike is design to break easily, it's usually the riding style and heck care attitude towards servicing.

If get new bike, get ready to set 1-2k aside for blings like sliders, protectors and the like. You want good pick up? How fast is fast? Most CL2 sports bike can hit 100 in less than 4sec. Some les than 3sec, faster than Porsche and BMW M5. Your weight? If you weight 200kg even on Hayabusa you pick up slower than one skinny guy on KRR lol. Used bike is the repair cost etc and maybe a no warranty risk for older bikes.

I had went for the 899 panigale launch, it's beautiful in the flesh and the price is pretty attractive for an Italian bike. Now it's around 33k + 3.5 COE and ~1.5k insurance so it's around 38k. People normally look at the price tag and disregard the specs. 899 comes with brembo monoblocs, ABS, quick shifter, steering damper and a nice electronic package. The closest jap mid super sport is GSXR750 and you can see the diff in specs. But it comes with free chicks stares and numbers though.

Also how exp is exp? Be prepared for at least 1k/mth inc fuel, installment and the full shebang. Don't forget yearly insurance and road tax too. Your idea of cheap May be exp for me so please define your budget.

But forget whatever I said, just go to the shop can get the model you loved. You're an adult therefore you should know how to spend responsibly and biking should be based on passion not logic. If logic prevails, SG only sell super4 already. For me, I'm just gonna save up for 6 more months till I get mine.

Nothing to lose.
