Personally, I don't think the price nor brand of helmet matters.

 

As long as the helmet is dot-approved/PSB-approved, it doesn't matter whether the helmet costs $10, $100, $1000, or whether the helmet is L.A.B or Arai. They are equally capable of protecting you from the same amount of impact.

 

What matter more would be the helmet type - open-face vs flip-up vs full-face.

 

Why pay a few hundred dollars for an Arai open-face helmet, if it is not going to protect your head completely? You will be better off with a $120 full-face helmet.

 

Personally, I will use a helmet as my main helmet for around 2 years before replacing it with a new one. The old helmet I will keep as spare.

 

I believe the brand plays a part. Its like comparing China phone to Iphone. Same functions but different price. Think about it. Between full face and open face i have to agree but its a matter of personal preference.

Using an agv grid with frameless... Tried so many and this was the only one that allowed the frame to go in quite easily. The cushion in the helmet somehow has a gap that allowed the frame in easier than those "spectacle" slot helmet...

You can also try Shoei GT Air. There is also a slot for the spec. I compared it to my previous HJC Rpha10 and GT Air is so much easier with spec.

Arai RX7 got slot to put in the frame.

take abit of practice.

 

Shoei X-12 also can.

but helmet feel heavy

 

AGV i feel my head getting squash and tight for my spec.
