As this was told by the bike shop owner.

Anyone have any ideal, that you have to start the piaggio scooter engine at least once a day or 2 days once if not the battery will turn flat!

That's rubbish... My scooter start fine even parking for 1-2 weeks (with a healthy batt).

Don't think manufacturer will design a bike in this way lor.

Better to ride it once a week to keep the battery healthy. My bike i let it rest for a week i can feel the battery is starting to struggle when i crank. So far for my scoot i ride it almost everyday. Well starting the bike and just to let it run on idle is not enough to keep the battery alive for long. You have to ride it in order to charge the battery. Or u can rewire your IU to the headlight so that when your bike is at rest the IU is also at rest. IU is running 24/7 and it drain alot.

Thats my thought... if any bro have good idea please share. Speaking from my shallow experience.

I prefer to keep my bike as simple as it is... no additional lights or gadget.

Thanks for both the reply!

As I agreed it is rubbish and ridiculous! That's why I post on the forum to ask. As I just bought this second hand scooter from the Bike workshop Nov. 2013 and seldom ride it as presently I'm also driving a van. I had just change a new battery last week and it is flat. Yesterday I when back and check the mechanic and the boss said the same thing "need to start engine at least once a day or 2 days once if not the battery will turn flat"!

After charging the battery from the workshop the mechanic check the bike again and inform the coil (stator) and the voltage regulator" is faulty! Need to change take me $350+ any idea is it costly???

Generally Italian bikes parts are more expensive compared to other makes. You can get a quote from Piaggio agent or Taihin which specialised in Piaggio

Now im facing the same problem since November 2013 , my piaggio x9 whenever ii insert my key to start , theres no response at all basically its totally dead , since i got a spare bike this bike ive yet to tow for repair.

The question now is , what could be the fault?

-Stator Coil

-Flat Battery

-Cdi

-Fuse

-Voltage Regulator

Anyone keen to share your experiences or knowledge on this =)

You dun have to tow your bike to save cost! At first I tow my bike and pay extra tow fee, second time I can jump start with my van battery or you can use a normal AC adapter to temporary charge the battery for a few hours but it can only give you 1 start on your scooter then you have to ride your bike to the workshop to check the problem(s)!

Yah rubbish. Doesn't apply for healthy battery. Just make sure you don't have any electronics draining the batt when it's sitting...like lights, etc.
