I swop from a Dorsoduro1200 with full ohlins TTx to this Caponord1200.

It really a much smoother ride.

Less engine brake when I close the throttle.

A detune dorsoduro engine.

Caponord Sports mode is equal to Dorsoduro Touring mode.

Much easiler to find neutral gear.

So far did you have problem riding slow?? RPM @ 3000? Some feedbacks regarding bike jerking when reaching 3000rpm but will be back to normal at 4000. An also read that Aprilia had released the new mapping which will solve the jerking problem @ 3000 RPM. I wonder if Aprilia Singapore has gotten the Cap with the latest mappings.

Haven't ride la bro. Will be collecting this Thursday. Will update on FC no worries about that.

Maybe Morgan can update first abt the FC. But i've read one rider in UK got 370km till dry that means 24litres of petrol all used up including reserved. Another one got 5.5litres/100km which means a total up for 23litres, he could go as far as 436km. So i guess it all depends on the riding...

Quoted $29068 for 1st party insurance exclude COE. im abv 31 btw.

BEsides the electronics, i guess just the side panniers. So far no endcan yet for the Cap. Other countries have the standard version which do not have the panniers, ADD, main stand, Cruise control. MAH only brings in the travel pack.

You can email to Eugene @ eugene@mah.com.sg.

Im sure he is more than happy to assist you. Let's bring up the numbers for the Cap. :cheer:

Same with the Honda Crosstourer too...

I guess its up to individual preferences. Surveryed Tenere (S10), Crosstourer, KTM Adv 1190, Caponord - All are superb bike. Fell in love with the KTM Adv but the price is too high for me. Hence to grab a European bike with the price as close as the Japanese ones, I think that's great. Did alot of homework about Caponord at numerous website and some forums. Finally decide to take it...Can't wait!!!

my bike is still around 170km.

so I do not know the fuel consumption.

Whats the problem at 3000rpm?

I come from a Dorsoduro1200. so basically Caponord is able to travel better at Low RPM and Low Speed compared to Dorsoduro.

But its still not as smooth as a my other previous bike at lower speed (GSXR600. Harley883. Harley 72. Harley RoadKing)

I guess its about the smoothness...if i could recall correctly, other owners talk abt the surging problem at the 3000rpm. surging does mean sudden increase in power right?

What about the new Triumph Tiger sport 1050? Comparable? Me too at first would like to go for the orange KTM Adv 1190, but with current coe, price too high already.

Last.. just saw the advertisement on the said Caponord on Motoculture magazine. Eye catching indeed. Like Multistrada..

Triumph Tiger Sport!! Actually decided to take that before one of my friend showed me the Caponord picture. Had a chat with the Mah Dealer and currently at that point of time, there wasnt any Cap on show. So I have to wait. Afterwhich, I received the quotation for the Caps and the price is more or less the same as the Tiger sport. With all the new technology and bigger CC on the Cap compare with the TigerSport which only have ABS, i guess its an easy decision.

But then again the 1050cc Tiger sport produce ard 125 HP which is the same as the 1200cc Cap.

So its really up to individual riders. For me, it's a gamble. Aprilia new launch Caponord against the all time reliable Tiger.

Hhahahah.. yeah forgot abt the KTM ADV 1190....will always be my dream bike...Emailed DW and was diverted to Albert Motors at Bukit Merah. Was quoted $36k otr somewhere ard November 2013. But then with this current COE price...will vomit blood... LOL...

For my age i got the Capo with 1st party ins @ $29050 not inclusive of COE. For the fuel gauge, yes there is. I think all bikes should have it right?

If you're interested, just email to eugene@mah.com.sg. He assisted me with the queries on the Capo.

Updates from my Caponord.

Traveling at low speed 20-30km/hr is a problem as the bike will jerk as if no petrol coming in. So most of the time have to control the clutch. Having a slight problem with getting use to hydraulic clutch but I guess will get use to it.

FC for now is at 14.5km/litre at sport mode. Still running in below 100km/hr at 6th gear 4000rpm. Check out with other Capo owners at Australia and he said my FC is HIGH!! So now monitoring again but this time under Touring mode.

Updates from Caponord

Now traveling at 6000rpm at 6th gear can reach speed of 135km/h.

FC under Touring mode - 18.7km/litre. 2nd top up. Will monitor again the FC and average it out.

Edited - FC calculation might be wrong.
