Any mates using FCR carb for their rides??

If so, where do you guys head to to have her tune up ?? Seem like not many willing to touch that carb from my experience lol...

Am running on 41mm FCR. Issue is the bike keep dying off at idling speed (not due to idle speed too low or engine too cold). Plug check relieve that all is well neither too rich or too lean...

Kindly advise....

Many thanks!!!

Regards

Steven

since u ask, but i'm not familiar with fcr carb (it seem very complex as compared to normal carb).

all carb works on the same principle n design.

does ur idling hunt (meaning eng rev goes up n down at idle)?

if it does means its lean at low-end, adjustment by the pilot-screw or air-screw (not the idling-screw).

if u can find it, i try looking for it on the schematic, it show located inside the bowl (i might be wrong).

normal carb, pilot(air)-screw is located on the outside, anyway if u can locate it.

the norm to adjust the pilot(air)-screw is screw-in all the way inwards lightly touch bottom.

(warning: do not use force when bottom, else the screw needle tip will break).

from bottom, unscrew out 1.5 turns, tats the normal setting for pilot(air)-screw.

+- one turn, means if u turn inwards or outwards one turn.

more than one turn, u need to replace the slow-jet one size up or down.

so plentiful of trial n error, even for a skillful mech needs to do it this way to get the correct settings.

this is just the first stage(slow-jet, pilot-screw), second stage (jet-needle) n third stage (top-end, main-jet).

briefing end.

ps:

oh, it can be as simple as replace a air-filter.

test by remove air-filter n check whether ur bike dies or not.
