I just found out my rxz carb is the japan version not catalyzer version although my bike is the catalayzer model. Does this affect the performance? Felt a lil cheated by shop. Zzz

Japan carb or catay carb doesnt affect the performance of the bike. Its only the catay exhaust restrict the performance of the bike

Well can't change a thing since changing pipe will make me get into trouble with lta.

But u can change the jets of the carb to run better. But limited to the exhaust outtake.

Most important to check when u buy

1. Block code. See what code they give you. You will know whether the bike was going for overhaul or not.

2. Carb. See original mikuni or other brand.

3. Exhaust still stock and never openend so u can pass the inspection

4. See the outlook. Some they have changed with aftermarket items, not original yamaha.

 

If you want to know your carb setting is right or not, is easy.

See spark plug, and ensure the color is like red brick. If color is black, then its too much 2t oil. If color too pale, then u need to adjust the jets.

Just to add on, check if the chassis number tele with the exhaust. 5pv only goes with catay exhaust. Zmc and 2ux both can use 3bs exhaust. Only 2ux can use lemang exhaust.

Try johor area. They usually change their catay for 3bs exhaust for less restrictions

If the catalyzer pipe does not have any welds, just send for inspection. If dont let u pass, just f them for being correct.
