What difference does it makes if you change recently changed piston to the new piston? Maybe the Vinnear caliper can tell.

Actually mmg aku tak nak tukar piston ngn piston ring tu, tapi since aku tak tau ape2 benda... aku ikut je ape org kate. Tak tau lah klau dorang tu btul ke tak.

 

Tu psal aku post pat forum... to get help from the bikers out there who are more experience in bikes. Behtu kena marah. Ape seh! haha.

 

Anyway, back to the topic... so when i go there, sruh dorang dismental engine je eh? and dun touch the block? will the alignment run when they part the block from the engine? tu je aku nak tau.

at the first place, buat pe kau nak overhaul? since kau da tuka piston ngan ring baru, pakai je. tak yah overhaul ke apape. alignment lari? does it makes a diff?

Yeah, i agree! The situation happened to me too. I had just rebore my block, change a new piston, piston ring, gasket etc hoping to get rid of the "knocking" sound but to no avail. Wasted $$. Skrg plak, due to new piston, I cant ride fast for say 1000km. Haiz.. Okay, nvm.. what's done cant be undone. Now face the future problems.

 

I realise the sound came from a lose con-rod (connecting rod). My mechanic says in order to change the con-rod, have to overhaul the bike. Is it true?

 

Because con-rod aku pun dah longgar. Den in order to change, kena overhaul. Tu psal aku nak overhaul.

why at e 1st time when u do overhaul u never change ur con rod as well?

That time bunyi piston aku lagi dasyat... the knocking sound is very loud. So, aku pi kdai motor tanye what happen and how to get rid of the sound. Pastu dia blang ah... "ni mau rebore, piston kena tukar". That's what he told me lah when i was there. Pastu ptg nye, the mechanic call, den he said "abang... lu punya con-rod pn sudah longgar skit ah. mau tukar kena overhaul. $400++ ada."

 

But at least after changing piston, piston ring smua.. the knocking sound reduce tapi masih ade ar due to the con-rod.

Bukan camtu bro... the mechanic ade call blang psal con-rod longgar. And dia sruh overhaul. Aku tak overhaul cuz ngah sesak... takde duit. So aku cuma tukar piston, piston ring and rebore the block. Aku plan overhaul next time bila ade duit. Overhaul pn makan2 $400 - $500... mane nak cekau duit?

so tat means dia bukak depan kau trus bilang nak kena tukar piston ngan rebore? kalau gitu dia pun bleh check conrod kau on the spot jugak whether con rod kau masih ok ke tak. btw, kau nya piston penah jam ke atau seize? kalau tak asal pulak nak kena rebore? kau ade tengok blok kau ade calar ke tak?

Nope. Dia tak bukak depan aku. That time aku ngah rush, so aku taruk je bike pat kedai. That was at 1pm. Pastu kul 6pm camtu the mechanic call blang psal con-rod longgar skit.

 

Piston aku tak pernah jam or seize, cuma its making lots of knocking sound. Bising bila aku start engine. Aku tak tau ape jadi ar, but dorang sruh rebore... aku ikut kan je. Calar ke tak aku terlupa nak tanye. But for sure i din see if for myself cuz i wasnt there when the mech took out the block.

 

Anyway, thanks for your help brothers. I'll see what can be done next.
