Hi guys,

Anyone keen to sell their VFR800 Gen.6 with OEM panniers?

Looking at machines from year 2006 (updated, ie. clear lens model, preferably 2008) and above.

Please PM me if there are any leads.

Btw, any common faults or special items to watch out for on pre-owned VFR800?

TIA

Regards,

Kenneth

I think the price of vfr800 gen6 is very high now. as there is no direct replacement. just went to bike shop to look around and sale man was keen in my gen 6 due to demand. I shall say 03 gen6 , $10k +/-?

Hi All,

Anyone knows how much a June 03 registered 6th gen would be in the market?

Hi Eminem, how much did u buy yr bike? If you're not comfortable posting here, can u PM me?

To answer your question abt full tank mileage till reserve light up is at least 300km for mine. On good days, or when I pump to the brim with Msia petrol, 340 before last bar starts blinking.

Does the bike have vtec? If have means 6th gen. Another way is under seat exhaust means 6th gen. 2002 still has 5th gen I think.

Welcome to the V4 family....mileage depends on how u ride it.....VTEC opens=use more petrol.....mine averaging around 290km before it starts to blink....once it blinks u got around 40km before empty....word of caution once it blinks try not to ride above 6.2k rpm coz thats when the VTEC engages....

Recommend u send the bike for a full servicing EO/plugs/coolant/oil & filter change. Check ur brake fluid colour...if its not clear....then its time to change and rebleed all the brake and clutch fluids.

Since u just got the bike its better to check ur battery first....those cheaper Yuasa batteries can cause retifier/stator coil failure. Get a voltmeter if its not already installed. Those are the most common failure on 6th Gen...Stator coil & retifier. Best put in the factory spec Yuasa Dry cell (costs around $160-180).

Enjoy the thump of a V4

Panniers either get OEM Givi or V35s. There are also H&B......expect to pay from 1.5k to 2k for brand new ones...

welcome aboard bro

you might want to check some wiring issues if urs is a gen 6, the major flaw is that the earth wire on 02 n 03 tense to melt cos wire too thin.

adding a by pass grounding solves the problem but you need to check first.

I hav done up most of the wiring issue from vfr-world n vfr-disscussion, good site to learn more.
