Hi guys I'm riding a gsr400, and realized my oil drain thread has stripped. The nuts are fine and upon closer inspection the thread in the oil drain hole still looks fine to me.

I have done a re thread once the first time it stripped now, I need advice on how should I go about it?

Is there any screw/bolt specialist in sg? That really troubleshoot and try to salvage the situation rather than most other bike shop asking me the change the bottom oil sump altogether.

I've read online that, using a bigger in mm and bigger thread pitch size nut to self re thread.

Hope to hear some response and your advice will be appreciate.

use ptfe tape on the thread of your bolt and tighten, it should hold up well with hi-temp silicone

red silicone can be scrapped off when another oil change

change out the oil sump is out of the question

simply rethread with the next bigger size, be very careful you get the right pitch else you'll

find yourself rethreading all over again

jap bikes should share the same pitch as opposed to european counterparts

fine or coarse thread i forgot liao

good luck, no biggie, dont lose sleep over it :)

looking for drz parts, any parts will do!

Hi, I already have the tapes on and it still leaks. I was thinking of getting a bigger plug to try but afraid might crack the the surrounding area of the thread on the oil sump as it is made of aluminum.

Seems like a big issue as the oil is leaking 24/7

Update: I had the crush washer replace again, did a slight re thread and applied liquid gasket seal on the nut, seems like the dripping has stopped.
