The purpose of this thread is to document the trip we had on 21st July 2007 to some interesting destinations & their GPS coordinates. So everyone interested can know where to find them.

Part 1.

At about 12.30pm we left GP esso for Pontian town to search for the famous Pontian Wanton Mee. But as we arrive in the town, we realized the town was bigger than we thought & decide to give it a miss. Instead we looked for a food court with a good seaview.

Part 2

We found the Pontian durian farm . It wasn’t impressive, but many tourist bus are there. The owner told us the durian season for this area has ended. There is no more durians to sell here. I think its not worth to visit this place at all. But in case you might want to take a look , the GPS coordinates are : N1.39091 E103.43701

Part 3.

We proceed to Kukup to search for the paintball place. Its quite a nice cosy place you can see. When we told him we belong to a bike club, the owner took out a few hundreds rounds for us to practise FOC. We tried shooting the monkeys lurking around the bushes but missed.

 

They have many packages. The cheapest package is RM13 per person, each person 50 paintball bullets. The most expensive is RM35 & you get 200 bullets. All packages come with body vest, face shield etc. Additional paintball bullets come in RM90 for 500 bullets. This means each bullet is RM 18 cents or 9 spore cents. He advised that ideally, 2 teams of 5 men each is best for playing games like capture the flag etc. He also organized durian parties & lunch buffet upon request at the place itself.

Part 4

Next we proceed to the Tanjung Piai Resort. This resort is walking distance to the paintball place. The scenery is not bad. N1.28207 E103.51136

Part 5

Finally we went to Spore’s Mandai Forest to search for Durians. There are hundreds of rambutan trees & durian trees there. Much more than any other abandoned durian farms I have visited elsewhere. But for those who are are interested in coming here, the season has just ended. Do visit this place next year 1st July when the season just begins. And wearing a pair of waterproof touring boots is best, because some places are muddy & wet. The best timing to come is at the break of dawn around 6.30am.

 

By the time we reached the destination, it was very dark. Too dark to look for durians. Anyway, I have saved the GPS coordinates of this place & photos of the entrance into the Mandai forest.

 

After this we walked back to our bikes parked near the Rosewood condo area in Woodlands ave 2.

 

By this time , we were very hungry & we proceeded to Chong Pang market for the famous Ngoh Hiang stall & ordered some D24 durians to eat on the spot there.
