Hi everybody,

been riding for a few years and still not technically a knowledgeable rider. Pretty new to singaporebikesforum as well!

never really seen cafe racer types in singapore. Is the cafe racer scene big over here? What are the bikes suited to mod into a cafe racers legally then illegally? Can some of the 'old birds' share a thing or two?? I've been poisoned deep..... so deep, Im looking at bikes to buy and converted modded into cafes racers but to no avail.... very little infos pertaining to this subject (not other countries sites into considerations) ....

I've looked in super 4s, royal enfields, even harley 883s and also know that yamaha or kawasaki model RXK (if im not wrong) is one of the best suited bikes to be modded but its just too small in capacity for me. Im looking at something 2a and above. Can someone please shed more light into my way? Thanks in advance...

The scene is small but definitely getting momentum. You can buy one off the rack like the Moto Guzzi V7 Racer or Cafe Classic, the Royal Enfield Continental GT, Triumph Thruxton, or even the BMW NineT (which is some sort of a cafe racer styling)... but of course the true Cafe Racer are bikes customised from stock street bikes by bikers. Good platform to work on are usually the aircool/oilcool street bikes cos the radiator on a water cool somehow impedes the overall look and feel of a Cafe Racer. Examples of such are Yamaha XJR, Kawasaki Zephyr, CB750 oilcool or as u mentioned the smaller cc bikes like Yamaha RXK, Honda CM, Suzuki CG etc.

Check out Custom Burner and Vicious Cycle... These are the 2 that are very creative in customising bikes into cafe racers.

The CB750 Nighthawk is a good Cafe racer bike. The frame is made for it.

I did a mild cafe job on mine

CB 750 four Cafe Racer.jpg

Sadly, (happily, dunno...... confused!) Ive been bitten by the Moto Guzzi bug, so the honda is going to finance a new Guzzi project.

See details below

Faster, lighter and better looking than the younger 2002 model cb750 that Ive test ridden! Fast, exciting and ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL CB750 Four Cafe Racer, Super 4 Nighthawk 750cc.

8 years of COE remaining - Expires May 2013 Road tax til 23rd march 2016

Selling at $10K, reasonable offers considered.

Willing to trade for Moto Guzzi.

Gets appreciative looks at every traffic light. Always gets mistaken for a new bike, despite being 3 years from being a vintage bike, as it's a 93 model.

Every nut and bolt replaced with stainless steel allen bolts.

Tail light and tail fairing from cb400 super sport with custom made (by me) side covers to suit.

NEW chain and sprockets, rear tyre, in the last month.

Recently replaced clutch, custom cafe racer paint, battery, mirrors, bar ends, grips, speedo cable, Ace handlebars – (no problem at last 3 inspections)

New Chrome bullet signals, Chrome crash bars, shocks, side and center stands, master cylinder, brake & clutch levers, engine mounts carby tops, triple clamp, engine covers, rear brake components, Instrument bracket, polished alloy forks, Chrome fork brace.
