Hi Jay, Twist fuel gauge cap downwards is ON & upwards is Reserve. FC for CB1K is around 18 to 19 km/L but still depand on ur riding manner.

Hmmm.....come & think of it. For CB750, the fuel cork knob point upwards and downswards, which is ON and Reserve? Mine the words are hardly visible.

Old bikes you can go to Combine Motors at Sim Ming tech park 2nd storey. The uncle not bad. Good with mechanicals.

cb750 needs the periodic oil change, oil filter.

the rest is like change tyre, brake pads, adjust chain

you dun need mechanic to be familiar with cb750 unless your engine needs overhaul.

i did a top overhaul @ Soon Hin - Yishun in 2007

mechanic - Ah Ming

a bit pricy though, but i like the careful hands of Ah Ming :thumb:

I found out its called a fuel petcock (strange name, don't know why).

Anyway, does reserve fuel share the same fuel tank? Up till now, I don't know how does fuel from ON and RESERVE work. Only know that when there is no fuel, switch to RESERVE. What will happen if I switch to RESERVE during normal riding? Will my bike still run? Someone can explain? Tks.:cheeky:

So that thing is called fuel petcock.

When on "ON" position the fuel will be supplied using a higher level.

For "RESERVE" position the fuel will be supplied using a very low level.

fuel petcock has two pipes, one higher than the other.

leaving your petcock on reserve will not hurt your motorcycle, but when it is dry, IT IS DRY ... no fuel :dozed:

Reserve switch is an indicator on your fuel tank. So if you close the reserve, the reserve fuel control will not open but the normal fuel control will still be open.

So once you switch it to reserve, the fuel opening will be at the lower level of your tank.

You can still run with your reserve on but its not advisable. Reason being that if you run out of fuel with Reserve on, means that you have NO MORE FUEL in your tank at all.

The function of a reserve switch is to let you run the normal tank till you LEFT with some reserve for you to get to the nearest Petrol Station to top up.

You finish one tank already ah? How come you knw trip meter not accurate? Your Meter runs in miles means your trip is also in miles. So your 200km should be 120miles. ard there should be your reserve or more mabbe 130miles or 140miles.

Actually Euro or Jap model doesn't matter to me since I don't speed until so extreme.

Tks for the link. Can see the parts.

Since the owner's manual is not very useful, then it's ok. :p

KNN! looked ahead... never ending till jln bahar exit.. uphill also... die la... kena route march with CB1k.. then lucky i kept spare container for emergency..managed to start the BEAST and romp to the nearest shell top up... Heng ah...now i know which is on and res can start to monitor...

P.s - From off position turning knob ANTI-CLOCKWISE is ON and CLOCKWISE is RES.
