Hi bros,

I took out an 2nd hand X1R for just over a month ard. I just want advice on what are the things i should service, change or look out for.

I recently changed oil, spark plug, bike chain and back spocket. Next month when i change oil again, i plan to change oil filter as well and clean my carburetor. My break pads and tyre are in good condition.

I plan to service slowly till everything is in good condition coz ive got no idea what the previous rider did with the bike. Is there anything i missed out or anything i should change as well?

Thanks for advice bros.

that's should be good enough for the time being.

To ride on the road, You need skills,Stamina, or even luck.

But to be a good rider, you have to change with your environment, and adjust yourself to its rhythm.

Cultivate the confidence to face the different situations. Don't let yourself to be subdued by the environment :thumb:

Why didn't u change the front sprocket as well?

You covered most of the stuff. But maybe wheel bearings deserve a check as well and also how do u determine your tires are good? Hope u checked for its age..

Ride fast..ride safe..don't crash...

Usually must change front and rear sprocket together w the chain haha. Check your tyres treading, usually got this "mark" that shows when the tyre is becoming botak

Overhaul if its broken... else breaking open the engine might do it more harm when its perfectly good still...

Might want to check on the brake pads, brake lines, flush the brake fluids and the replace the brake disk/drum if worn.

Tires, if its starting to "harden". if the tire is >2 years and not rode often the hairs will be there but the rubber might have already hardened... which means its losing grip. Might want to look at that too.

There's a common saying " if it ain broken, don't fix it". This i guess is true less those which may induce accidents... :)

Ride safe!
