31-12-2005 (Sat)

We met at Paya Lebar Caltex at about 4pm in the evening. Raymond & Co(CB400), Mr. Liu & Co (CB750), Irus & Co (CB400), Kai Feng (FZ1), Hong (F4i) and Ricky (CB400) will go for the entire 3 days ride to Malacca.

 

Well, the 9 of us (6 bikes) set off towards 2nd Link via PIE. Along the way, it is raining like cat and dog specially Clementi Ave 6. The rain didn’t stop us, we still process as normal as we are already prepare to go thru thousand of rain drops. (Thanks Mr Liu for the pant). Soon we reach 2nd Link at 5.40pm & after clearing the custom, we stop at GP Esso to meet our last Rider, Kelvin (K5), 7th bike. He still can wear a singlet & laugh while we are wet. We started a corn “makan” session, plan next rest point which is PAGOH R & R and off we go. Normal Routing: Raymond Lead then Mr Liu Sweeper. But after 40+ clicks, normal routing also, enjoy the scenic ride with lots of nice sweepers.

 

At 8.25pm, we reach PAGOH’s café called “Shalala” and we conquer half of the café area. We rest at the café for 25 mins because the rain had overtaken us. But after weather turn out fine for us, we process to shell petrol station and we saw an old ST11 parked alone over there, dun no where is the owner, accident bike, & we continue our journey.

 

At 9.45pm, we reach MALACCA. =) 1st stop at Shell petrol station, “Jin Taming Sari”, to confirm our route to a Famous Hotel, “Tan Kim Hock” which is next to “CITY THEME HOTEL”. We reach the hotel 10.25pm, and we process check-in: 4 Rooms: RM 79 each.

-Raymond & Co

-Mr Liu & Co

-Irus & Co

-Remaining Rider, KF, Hong, Kelvin, Ricky

We went back to room to wash up & leave our stuff before we gather at 11.15pm to hunt for food. 11.30pm, we reach a place call Portuguese Settlement where the restaurant seafood is famous but when we reach there, only two restaurant are open and there is nothing to eat & their service is terrible but we manage to get DRINKs & SATAYS and you can’t eat that kind of standard of satay in Singapore: The Sauce, the rice, THE 100 SATAYs stick (less than s$0.15 each). After eating, we celebrate our NEW A YEAR, by riding pass all near-by houses that are décor, viewing the main stage with people below forming a big circle dancing, and watch the long period of firework display (more than Singapore 9 mins firework display).Actually, We wanted to buy firecracker but dun no where to buy, so in the end, we drop this idea and left at 12.25am and on our way to next stop, we lost Raymond, he “chiong” until lost but soon we are back again and continue to hunt for more Foods. =)

 

Next Stop, “Wing” café, only 6 bikes reach the car park just beside the sea shore and once again, Raymond is lost again, but soon he is back with us again. And we start eating a full meal, play card, and dedicate song, chit-chat and See babe. We had fun and relax there. Around 2am+, we left the place and head back to Hotel. We reach the hotel at 2.30 and we start to brainstorm our mind to move our bike down the stair to park at the Hotel Lobby. Thanks to Raymond & Mr Liu for finding Panel to form a slope and we start moving our bike down the stair. After moving & parking, come to the end of the day for us. Thanks to Mr Liu for the Bottles of Minimal water that he bought for us. Rooms’ Conditions are fantastic but still good enough with two beds and an attached bathroom and TV, bathtub. We parked our bikes hotel's lobby and it is free of charge. & it seemed safe enough. After that, I went to near-by petrol station to buy bun to eat (still hungry) and make phone call. And surprise, I met Mr Liu at lobby to plan for tomorrow schedule.

 

01-01-2006 (Sun)

We set off at about 11.30am towards Malacca Famous “Bak Kut Teh” but before that, we had to shift our bike up the stair by forming a slope using panel. After shifting, we process with Malaysia Goods: TAN KIM HOCK FAMOUS DURIAN and a FAMILY Bike photo at the Entrance of the Shop. Glory!!!

We had lunch at Malacca Famous “LIM KEE Bak Kut Teh” and I like the meat ball. And after eating, we process to Gunner for photo taking at 1.06pm and rest under a big big tree at 1.15pm and It is a day filled with lots of anticipation and excitement. Planning for the next place, mersing, Kota Tiggin, Malacca Waterfall, Penang, IPOH, KL, PAPA, TOTO, blurblur… We have decided to head towards Genting Highlands instead of the original plan. Suddenly & Surprise, GENTING HIGHLAND!!! Mai siao la... I OK~… =)

 

At 2pm, we set off to Malacca Toll in two groups:

-Raymond & Co and Ricky

-Irus & Co, Mr Liu & Co, Hong, Kelvin, Kai Feng

After meeting up together at Malacca toll, and we plan the next the R & R point, all started to move off. A short rest at R & R and we continue our journey to Genting Highway. Reach KL toll, and we continue to process in Safety Law (Going through the Side) and reach Genting Toll, We united as one and “chiong” through the Genting Toll. Fun & Excited. At 5.34pm, we reach the Foot of Genting Highland to rest and we come out with a game called “Last one to reach Genting Highland treat Genting Starbuck”. Loser treat Coffee.

But in the end, we cancel it due to safety - The roads with many pot-holes on the way up to Genting Highlands. Ricky’s experience going up Genting Highlands was not that "pleasant" since the forks on my CB400 was giving a little more hard time. but the bike has never failed to perform and stayed in my cornering line even when the roads are bumpy.

And Ricky enjoy the accompany of Irus, Hong up the Hill. Well, the ride was fantastic. The roads are without the congested traffic. The scenery was nice. It was a view not to be missed for anyone who loves nature and greenery. It was much cooler in the mountains.

Soon, we reach the Genting highland and the hotel is full and we searched around for an another accommodation. Mean while, Kelvin is lost. Irus and Ricky were to look for Kelvin while others check-in at “1st world HOTEL”: 4 Rooms. RM151 each room with breakfast included. Same Sleeping Partner. We were quite fortunate to find lodging since Genting Highlands is a popular tourist destination for lots of festive Singaporeans.

Standard RM12 for Parking at the 1st World Hotel Lobby.(I asked my friend & there say it is standard price) There were no problems when we parked our bikes in front of the hotel at LAST but not 1st.

At 10.40pm, We had Kenny Roger for dinner. And Ricky had a great news to voice out at the table: Ricky knows how to go Genting and dun no how to go back to Singapore (rider, a finally applaud for Ricky, pls). Temperature that night is about 15 degrees Celsius. Kelvin,KF, Hong, Irus & Co And Ricky enjoy the Cool Air & Army Talk outside genting hotel

 

02-01-2006 (Mon)

In the morning, Kelvin, Ricky, Hong, Kai Feng slept until 11am caused they exercise the whole night while others wake up early in the morning to had their buffet b/f. The food was not that Fantastic but it's still edible.

Set off time: 12.30pm but we set off at 1.39pm

Set off Place: Genting Starbuck

Weather: Good Day to Ride

Hotel Check-out Time: 12noon, RM75 more if late check-out

 

Once again, I had so much fun. (Go gamble with Irus plus riding) Personally, we find going up Genting to be an easier task. Scrapping the pegs and the cylinders guards of the bike is often experienced. Sometimes the main stand also touches down during a bumpy cornering. Going down proves to be tougher since the down slope makes the bike goes faster and faster, hence more braking control must be exercised.

 

We saw two Singapore plate bike: Frazer & Haya on our ways down slope to KL. Everyone was in the festive mood and we exchanged greeting gestures as we passed other bikers. At the foot of Genting, We gather to eat Ice-cream which can’t be found in Singapore, Mountain-Shape Cone.

Enroute KL: We made a wrong turn at Highway and went into KL City instead. Not a bad choice either to take a good closer view of KL twin Towner. Soon, at 3.33pm, we stopped at BP petrol station to seek for direction. After filling up our tanks and getting some directions, once again we headed towards KL Exit, Goodbye KL City and I see u again SOON!

On The Way back Home (Singapore), we met group of Singaporean Biker with big high speed sweepers and not forgetting KL White WRX. It was more enjoyable & excited as compared to the previous 2 days of ride.

We had Rest twice on our way back, "Se-ra-bam" R & R at 4.58pm and "Ma-chap" R & R, the last R & R was a long journey and we had met the high speed sweepers there, they miss Irus & Co and Kelvin accompany. Kelvin was riding so hard until the plate no. disappear, & Irus was also riding so hard until NEW rain cloth break and the plate no. is seem by Raymond and Ricky on North-South Highway.Lucky, no one is behind you.

 

Reaching JB in 8.20pm, Irus & Co lead us to JB Bak Buk Teh which result in a heavy meal:

4 Large pots of bak buk teh

4 pots of chicken

2 pots of chicken leg

2 plates of oily veg.

3 re-fill of C.tea

Countless of rice & "You TIAO"

i wanted to say one word: "Full"

 

After dinner, OTOT, Home Sweet Home.

Lucky through out the whole journey, no one was stopped by "Malaysian Police". Maybe due to last week, we went to Loyang to Pray, Everyone is Safe and Sound.

No words can help to describe my feeling towards this trip, there may be hiccups and minor disagreement but that will not stop _____RIDE_____.

 

BUT, many wrong spelling in your story lei ... clementi lor ... sauce lor ... hahahaaa :sweat:

 

But nonetheless, this is what i so call true, no cover up ... i like it ... and Ricky ... I enjoy the ride up genting with you too ... plus your advise for EFI but not Carb ...

anyway, speaking of the tires.. the rear tire has got a different cutting.. so it sort of rub against my mudguard or whatever u call that.. it was so bad until when i remove the guard, there was an area that was.. erm smooth... then have to mod the guard(by filing the mounting holes).. after that prob was solved... and as what francis said.. confidence level increased..
