Just to share ... I am no expert.

Just bought a 2 year old GTS last week. Body condition good and mileage about 8500.

After applying some wax, it was a real beauty.

Changed the battery to a Motobatt (original Yuasa, already 2 years old) and sent it for full check and service.

Belt, rollers, clips, variator and clutch cleaning and check, coolant check and top up, plug change at AC Motors.

Added original Vespa screen $196 .. because after riding a few days above 110km (metered), cannot "tahan" the air blast on the chest.

Now wind deflected to shoulder and helmet ...so must bear with wind noise now but more comfy ride, in my opinion.

Replaced the horn with the smallest Hella horn (only installed a single cos there is not much space for mounting 2 or those large Hella will be extremely difficult to fit ) but I think its loud enough to let other cars know I am beside them (seems like the Vespa is too cute, like a rabbit or guinea pig, and car drivers seem to not care even though they see you).

Have pumped full tank 3 times so far (fuel tank is 9.2 liters, warning light comes on at about 6 liters) . Consumption is about 30.x km/liter ..75% expressway, usually keeping pace with traffic on rightmost lane.

Pick up is very good ..the strength of the Vespa is at the low and mid end. It runs out of steam at the 120 - 130 kmh area depending on the gradient.

Engine is very smooth through all speed range.

So if you are thinking of touring with it, take the scenic route and you will enjoy the sights very much.

Suspension is really good compared to other scooters. It smooths out most road unevenness.

I seem to suffer less lower back ache... always ride with a slight slouch and bent arms.

thanks for the infor bro.. how much u get for this 2nd hand? any cons on this bike

Under seat storage is not enough for 3/4 face helmet. You will need a top box for that. Mine has the original Vespa box. I got mine for 11k.

hi

has anyone install dr pulley rollers ,variator & a shorter belt on the gts 300?

Have only heard of changing rollers of different weights, variator, clutch and clutch springs but not shorter belt. It's news to me.

]Mine max out at 130 on flat road. I guess with 12 inch wheels, Vespa thinks that anything beyond that would send us either upstairs or downstairs !!!!!!!

Mine is white. Bought mine just before Christmas But could only transfer after New Year as owner had already planned to return home for Christmas and New Year holidays.

Just changed the battery ($1.60 ) for the clock. DIY after printing the instructions from the Internet.

You will need wrench to remove mirrors, cross tip screw driver (long one), flower shape Allen keys. Battery also needs to be disconnected, head lamp panel, control switches panel, horn panel all have to be removed. All the cable connectors to switches have to disconnect.

For 1st time, I think you will need 90 to 120 minutes.

I guess this has to be done once every 1.5 to 2 years.

I wonder how much the workshop charges.

I guess it's all labour cost.

workshops will probably take under an hour since they are familiar with what to do.

Has anyone seen any 2nd hand gts300 on sale anywhere in shops/forums..?

Saw one at Wing Yap, Balestier back in January. Not sure whether it's still there. I think it was FBH plate.
