Hi guys,

The story goes like this...i send for my bike for servicing at my usual workshop. Just the simple oil and spark plug change service. Everything went as per normal until the mechanic overtighten the bolt and it cracked the crankcase.

At first the mechanic didnt say anything but keep wiping and wiping at the area. I immediately know something was wrong because oil change wont take such a long time and his actions of constant wiping the part definately caught my attention.

So i went over and true enough, my crankcase cracked. I immediately complain to the boss abt this and when he come over, he recommend me to do welding. Right now, i am very hesistant abt welding because i know it was just a temporary solution. I wanted to them to replace the case but the boss says that its has some registration number and it would be a hassle as i need to go to Lta/vicom.

Not sure if he trying to smoke me but he did say that i have to pay the labour charges if i want to chnage the crankcase.

I need some opinions or advice with this problem. I am at a lost now as i dunno what the next step that i should take.

Correct, the engine number is usually on the crankcase. Tell him never mind you will go LTA to update the serial number but they have to replace the cracked case. Labour is their own damn problem also. Basically tell them you want it in the exact same condition as it was before their screw up.
