Valve Clearance

has anyone done valve clearance before?

 

i am riding a cub, mileage roughly 50k and according to the manual i should have at least done every 6k.

 

tried asking chong @ planet motor to do but he say there's no need for it.

 

what do you guys think?

I think for cub you just run it to the ground. Not worth to do valve clearance. Just do a complete overhaul

unless you are expecting a top performing bike..

low capacity bikes like cubs ..and those ah pek riders..their machines dont need to do valve clearances adj..

 

just adjust valve clearance/overhaul when you find the performance unacceptable anymore

i just believe in preventive maintenance that's all.

 

better to shell a few bucks now then a few hundred later.

Actually valve clearance is gd to do, if u want to keep yr bike for 10yr and want a gd engine life its better to do it if not don bother.....;p
