anything above 4k rating is illegal.

The 2 brightest currently is

Philips X-treme Vision (3.7k) vs. OSRAM Night Breaker Plus (4k)

The higher the K the "whiter" it is.

For my bike i rather use the ecovision Philip ... day light is always on. So longevity is more important than trying to blind the car in front of me... its 10% brigher than the normal phillip light. And prob about 30% more in term of pricing... but you get 4 x the life span... so i guess its a pretty decent deal.

Speaking of which then what about yellow headlight? When its raining or foggy yellow light 'penetrates' better to help you see better than white light.

White LED lights in heavy rain do not penetrate well and gets reflected back. Yellow is best.

I have however white LEDs on my BMW and they are so bright that drivers start to 'siam' when they see me coming from far away, as it looks BIGGER and FASTER due to the brightness.

Everyone sees me now :p

On Singapore roads I find white light too glaring. Sometimes they approach from behind and I have to stop looking at my rear mirror cos it blinds my eye. If suay suay look at it it blinds me momentarily.

Use it on Malaysia road la, here overkill liao.

Btw, I read that for cars that using white light their front light needs to be of special type, something like will automatically adjust the angle when on the move. Is it true?
