Look at the "oil price already drop" but the petrol stations still hold on to the high price and said their are old price but when "oil price goes up" they will immediately rise the price without saying their is the old price!

Rumours has that there are some big player manipulating the COE.

It was say that they want to dominate the local bike market.

 

What they are doing is bidding super high for COE.

 

Motorcycle COE is not transferable. Meaning. U cannot transfer from 1person to another under LTA.

But the trick is as follows.

Bid super high for coe. Causing the price to be 6k+.

U have 6 months to register the coe to bike.

Using FIFO method. The nego during selling to new buyers is. Current COE price is 6.5K. But I have 1 that is 5K.

I can register to bike and then trasnfer ownership to u. The log card will show u are second owner. But bike is brand new.

U just need to pay 5.2K for COE. Instead of current 6.5K

 

Bidding process. U need to pay 200. U only need to pay the full coe amount only when U register. IF no buyer. U can just let it expire and forfiet the 200.

 

Unless Government come out new laws and plug up loop hole.

But base on the pattern. There's no way government can control.

 

Only way to solve it. Unless all bikers unite. That is don't buy new bike with COE from shop for 1.5 years.

Only buy new bike when individual self have successfully obtain COE on his own.

 

But know us singaporean. It will not happen.

does it really matter if we name who the big players are?? i am not affected and i dont care. ALL i know they are there. and am for sure its not the average riders like myself , Black Comet and safe&bin who bid it up to $6k.

All i am hoping the law will change so as to not allow bike shops to bid the coe. afterall, the endusers are still bikers and drivers so YOU RIDER WANT BIKE, JUST GOING TO GO TO A SHOP AND BUY A BIKE, and you want coe, just go to lta and buy. its just LTA or garment inflexibility to allow us to pay by installment.

For all we know it could be LTA themselves who jacked it up. Would you have that much trust in a body that always gives template replies to any queries? Most of the replies barely even answers the questions. But then again it may be just me.

clearly dealers bid high becos they need the COE to sell their bikes. Many dealers only bid AFTER getting their orders/deposit fm bikers. Bikers already consider the existing COE price when making that decision to buy a new bike.

 

bottomline : Enough buyers are ok with the current COE prices to support it at this level.

That's problem of sale talk and the installment plans? The longest I saw few years ago was 5 years, now we got 7 years....What next? 10 years..

There are still lots of room to increase. I guess when people used to the price and when times are good, people just buy and buy.

 

Just like few years ago, where HDB were in demand, was not uncommon to heard 20-60k COV, and people that time, SG land limited, sure price increase. Nowadays we nv hear about COV anymore, sometimes polices changes and change the landscape as well.

Like I said don't over commit. When times are bad, don't expect others to take over your commitment.

 

Once you start to allow only buyers to bid.

There are people who wants to diy everything and there are people who just want to buy convenience. When you can afford a Ducati or Harley, do you really think you have time to buy your own COE?

 

There are more people who prefer hassle free buying or loan package.

 

When you bid your own COE, will you not top up $500 more k if you try buying 6k COE for 6 rounds?

 

For the dealers' side, without COE, will they keep more stock? Most likely no.

I would assume that price will drop once buyer bid for their own COE or once policy changes.

Will that happens?
