Buying R6. my height about 169 to 170 only.

Its disappointing, the R6 seating height is about 3.5inches taller than my previous ride, cbr400. About 9cm taller. The R6 seat height is about 33.5inches, Cbr400rrr is 30inches.

Hate it, cant 2 foot down at junction. only 1 leg half tip toe at most with the bike slightly tilted.

Not much confidence with the ride tho i like it.

Im thinking of lowering the seat height to about 30.5 to 31inches. Shaving seat foam at most is 0.5inches. What else can I do? Anyone know any shop good in this area and have experiences in lowering their tall bikes before?

I understand that the geometry may be affected if i lowered the bike and i may have to lean more when turning. But I have always been used to doing so with cbr400, its turning radius is already incredibly small..

IMO, you should custom a bike to you, after you drop the height, there are other stuff to tune for your cornering pleasure, look up the service manual of your bike bro.

PS:bike ride you or u ride bike.

I lower my 06 Daytona 675 by 15mm. So far not much issue about the handling. Actually the handling is much better. Can corner with more confident. Highly recommended. Go to kaki bukit rd 2. Level 1. Its a motorcycle shop which does frebication. Happy riding.

What did they do to lower it? Shaved the seat thinner, lower suspension, or what? How much did it cost?

There's a reason why the bike is designed with this geometry. It will affect the handling if you do any form of modifications to it. My suggestion is get used to it. I'm a 168cm rider riding a panigale 899, took me a month or 2 to get used to riding with one leg, it's not that tough just be cautious abit. You will get there.

Longer? Doesn't that make the bike taller?
Am guessing the suspension will be at a lower angle where it will not be used effectively as how it was designed to be used. But what do I know I only ride a small commuting bike and am not a bike engineer.

It all depends on bike itself.. i went looking around sportbike and not all bike can be lower.. we all have to tinker around with the bike somehow to make it our own..
