I see..

But no matter what, just choose the one you feel is more suitable for you.

Don't do both at the same time, as its a waste of money and time (time split studying for both can be spent more wiser studying harder for 1)

I was in the same situation as you before, whether to choose SIM RMIT or ACCA.

In the end I chose ACCA because personally, I find it more recognized in Singapore. (Graduate in ACCA then work my way to Singapore CPA unlike RMIT whereby you get Aus CPA first)

Sure it may be hard, but its do-able if you put in the hard work.

No pain = no gain

Easy Qualification may not appear as good as it seems.

Doing ACCA gives me better confidence in being an accountant in future.

my 2 cents :cheer:

RMIT you dun have to get your CPA aus.

all you need to do is to take the exam from ICPAS then you can be a provisional member already..

Yes FTC environment is more conducive for learning. Most of the lecturers are quite helpful. Not too sure about SAA. But FTC no homework leh... SAA got right?

I have a degree from UOL in Banking & Finance. I'm planning to take up ACCA. After reading through the post, I' m wondering whether I should take up the course. It sounds tough. Another thing in my mind is, what am I suppose to do if I clear my ACCA. BTW, I'm woking in a local bank without any accounting work & I'm almost 35 (old liow so don't know whether got people want to hire or not).

Can anyone help??

are you going over to accounting side?

i mean since you had been in the finance side for quite awhile why not stay there?

i mean even you go over to the accounting side i doubt the will able to pay you as what you are having now?

(just my thinking. i'm still a kids thinking of going to for ACCA or RMIT)

guys guess what i found out..

i realize that FTC had a slightly higher fee compare to SAA..

an example that for paper 1.1 or F1

FTC is charging at 460

SAA 400

early bird special

FTC 20percent off

SAA 30percent off..

but the good side for FTC is there is 20 lecture compare to SAA which is only 17

but the duration also different for FTC is 3hrs so total is 60hrs.

SAA is 4hrs so total is 68hrs!

still thinking of going to SIM or ACCA

hiaz..

need to reply SIM by next week..

really lost man....

u sound damn lost.

i find comparison of fees and class hours irrelevant.

i think u shld go down and speak to them personally to clear your doubts.

for me. 3hrs lecture i also wanna zzzzzzz liao. if i go for 4hr lecture, gone case.

class fees not an issue to me, i just go to ftc cos i rather have it in orchard.

i personally feel ACCA sounds better, no idea how each will stand in careers.

last sem i rode to SIM, due to personal reasons and sian of riding to town when i can zzz on the direct bus to FTC.

i didnt like the SIM name so i skipped SIM even when SIM is very near to where i stay.

like i said, talk to the customer service staff again. peep into the classrooms and have a look.

i love dividends.

Hey. I did ask my supervisor this question. He's a very experienced auditor. He was saying when he used to be in audit, the firm used to hire staffs without working experience , fresh from school.

If you're interested in auditing and wanna take up ACCA, this could be a good start.

Haha! No lah I believe they also look at attitude when they hire people. You interested to go to accounting line? Why? Haha! I got a friend who's an engineer also doing ACCA now. I can never figure out why.

Just decide, make up your mind and decide whether u wanna go to SIM or do ACCA. Either one, put all your effort into it instead of contemplating here and there and being so undecided.
