Yeah..welcome to the bikes world!

 

wX: been to my bike shop (bike production) ask for prices for super 4 & cbr 400...For super 4 FU plate cost $6000+, CBR 400 FJ plate cost $4500+...

do u think the super 4 price dey quote is reasonable? aft much consideration i tink i agreed wif wad u had said abt CBR 400, reali nt worth the money buying in cheap but maintenance rate is high...almost the same as my current SP...

FJ plate is a really old bike le, have to spend quite a bit to bring the condition back up again. U can try spending the money to clear all the problems one shot, change all the electrical components (rectifier, cdi, battery) and wiring, overhaul the whole engine. This should resolve the worst of the problems which might come up.

Remember, you spend so much but the wear and tear parts like chain, sprocket, tyres all haven change..

 

FJ plate for 4.5k? so how many years of coe left?

 

i'm not saying tat u should get s4, i'm not riding s4 either.. but i'm just saying tat maybe buying a cbr from private owner might be better.

hmm, din ask hw many yrs left...cuz haven reali tk my 2A yet which is due in april, juz casually ask ask only...from the advice u giv, even do up the whole bike i can already got other models 1st hand bike le...dun reali worth...

 

tink will still go recce around other bikeshops ask around 1st...dun wana end up spent another bomb on a 2nd hand bike....

if u really like cbr or gsx, it's the kind of money tat u got to spend.

no matter wat, i dun think u'll spend up to 13k (can buy spec 3 le).

 

Those 10 year old cbr which are nearing the end of their coe will be a good buy though.. for less than 2k can get le.. another 2k for full overhaul, 1k for the whole electric system, 1k for wear and tear parts (tires, brake pads, chain and sprocket, brake disc).. total 6k liaozz.. plus renew coe and insurance.. add together about 7k ba.. still cheaper than some of the rvf and u get somewat a new bike le..

 

worth a try lah..

Hmm, roger dat...come to think of it, guess hav to play safe & ask ard 1st though lyk sporty bikes but dun wan to end up myself suffering juz to own one...

 

haha! even do up till $7k+ might as well top up bit more to get a 1st hand at least any prob met, i wun regret as i'm the only one riding...using the money to do up an old bike might as well use it to improvised on new bike...keke!

FJ bike have already been renew of COE. Overhauling, rewiring are not really required if u are going to ride for just 1 yr plus. I didn't even send for my bike for overhaul and rewire. I just sent it for a service and a tuning of the carb that's all. I have yet to change it rectifier and cdi till den.

Ohh ok...thanks for the info...but i guess $4.5k for a FJ plate kinda high, have seem slightly cheaper price b4...maybe is due to the conditioning wise dat dey charges at this rate... i'll try to gather more info b4 deciding which bike to get...

 

hmm, have slight phobia in 2nd hand bike already so maybe wud rather go for a 1st hand one...still doing my research around...

today went down to the yamaha roadshow @ taka..saw the new R6 displayed there..hmm, this version of R6 instead of using the normaly exhaust pipe, this time dey change to short exhaust..the exhaust looks lyk those scooter type...v chunky! keke...
