In the quest of search for the bike, came across this seller, from Bikemart

After viewed the bike, the bike seemed familiar.

thus even so the deal was pending today morning.

After i realised it belonged to some1 i know,i texted and asked him,he told me he just sold the bike few days ago.

But what put me off from the deal was,the seller Lied about the condition and history of the bike, and tried to sell it at close to 3k above the price he bought few days ago.

Do beaware of such sellers making use of COE increase and buyers desperation to sell.

Nah i am not bothered about his selling price,Its about not being honest and how he wanted me to immediately purchase it.But i started to suspect something is wrong when i start to enquire about the bike and its history.

And the other part is how he forced the other seller to sell him at way lower price, just to immediately to resell and way more profit.

I only understood this after the previous told me of what happened.

And the purpose of posting here is,so that when someone is going to purchase the bike knows what who they are dealing with and what to expect from the bike.

so u angry because he buy and sell at a higher price??

Lasoul, will you be happy if you spend few thousand and find out that the bike condition and maintaince is not what it is as promised?

Will you be happy when your using the bike for work or sending your kids to school, thinking the bike you bought has belt and important service components just replaced as promised, just to find your belt snap in the middle of the road?

I don't mind if the seller bought a bike and sell at a higher price. Buyer should take prudent measures to know the market price of the bike before buying. Its a willing seller and buyer situation.

However, I definitely be mad if the buyer lied about the bike history especially without any receipts to back it up!

mentally physco-ed the seller, very good in talking ,like he nearly talked me into transfering deposit within an hour but i took a step back n think why keep on rushing me to immediatly transfer deposit.

i too did not mind paying slightly above for the bike, after when i realised, the so called maintaince n upgrades could not have been done over night and no receipts at all.

So basically, you are angry because you nearly paid a deposit for a bike that your friend just sold for a much lower price, at a higher price? You are angry that he tried to lie about upgrades and mods that were supposedly done over a single night?

Sorry, but maybe you should be angry with yourself being gullible as much as the seller is being dishonest. Just saying that you should have done your fair share of research and inspection of the vehicle prior to paying the deposit. Regardless of how good the seller speaks, one should practice some form of caution...

Sorry, not trying to rub salt into your wounds or defend the seller. It's a situation where there is a willing seller and a willing buyer, deal turns sour after buyer finds out about the price that seller bought it at. An analogy would be person A bought a house in yishun from person B, only to realize that person B got it for $1000 at a auction. Person B spoke of how good the house is, with perfect scenery and fengshui. Person A decided to buy the house anyways at $10k... So yah, lousy analogy... But this is what I feel... Sorry in advance...

as the seller told me,he owned the bike close to an year.yes i hv been riding the same model for the past few yrs, unless if i can bring tools to remove n inspect belt.

i am not angry, about price or deposit as i was willing to pay.but not when when seller does as above.own it for 1-2day and claim own it for clse to year.

Getting a good deal on the resale market takes a bit of patience and luck. If one is not equipped to make an informed purchase based on adequate knowledge and experience, its better to buy a new bike with a warranty.

Personally, I never, ever trust what a salesman says. But if I buy his or her product and it turns out to be a lemon, there is nobody else to blame but myself. Items that are re-sold has been priced down accordingly to factor in the unknowns. If buyer cannot stomach that fact, its preferable to buy new.
