Hi all

I went to a bike shop to purchase a bike.

But i find it odd the way they do their COE

They quoted me $850 for the COE, after the bidding comes out if the price is more i would have to top it up and if less they return the balance.

Is the the normal way a bike shop sells bike or i kanna carrot? :giddy:

fair and square.

Is it? Coz i tot when asked for OTR price, COE is already included?

This COE revision component was brought up by the shop in last minute when i was abt to pay for the bike

Felt like kanna carrot

Please advice :(

they will return the balance to u if the price is lower than 850 but based on situation now, i doubt will be lower than 850. so most likely u will need to top up the diff.

in sg, sound fast look fast is enough. run fast fine fast die fast.

ya its very fair n square. i think u have to top up. normal wat..

COE is controlled by goverment base on supply n needs. if more ppl bid n big higher n higher, coe price rise, so in order for u to get the coe, u have to top up base on the quoted price. unless u dunwan to get coe lor

check with the shop if they are bidding the COE under your name or under the shop? From what you wrote, i guess they're bidding next month. If you confirm getting bike from them and they have to bid for COE. Tell them straight to bid under your name so that you dun have to pay for the transfer fee. That's what I did.

imho i think it is a gonna be a carrot .. coe should based on the market current bidding ... which is at 1050... not 850... if they do it at 1050 i would say it is fair ... if not u just prepare to pay for the xtra fees...
