Steve said, "Fwa! Nearly got killed when my front went under me!"

Hydroplaning, though less likely on a bike than a car, is just as real a possibility, when fast enough. IMO, more weight on the slim front tires may reduce earlyl onset of hydroplaning. A few of us were going same speed as Steve's more rear-weight-biased CB4, but had no issues as our supersport bikes are weighted more at the front. Steve's Battlax's flat contact patch in the middle may not help in water evacuation as quickly as well. Well, these are just my conjecture.

Also, since its (1) so hard to spot water puddles on NSH, (2) rather irritating to have a bright headlight in your mirror, (3) a definite reduction for a clear rear-view when all you see is someone else's headlight in your mirrors and (4) so difficult to see the road ahead, be it in pitch darkness or heavy downpour ..... its my suggestion for future convoys in heavy rain and pitch darkness, to (1) turn on high-beam on every single bike and (2) space out all bikes at a good distance from each other on NSH. Benefits includes the elimination of the 4 problems listed above, plus every can go at a higher speed (fyi, last night's slow ride in the rain is pure torture 'coz its so cold, I juz wanna go home fast! haha).

Great lead-out work there, Murphy! Its tough enough focusing on what's ahead. Having to look out for 5 or so headlights behind you in those blurry mirrors in that torrential rain just makes is an almost unbearable job. Good job, bro! :thumb:

And Steve ... the guy's a fighter! White-knuckles experience on that tire slide plus on the verge of hypothermia, didn't stop him to keep riding amidst the shitty conditions till he touches down on SG. That's a true rider's spirit! Alright, man! :thumb: kOpi_jaC, the fire-fighter seems equally capable in fighting off the rain. :cheeky:

Thanks to Alex (& Gary for bringing me back to custom) for leading us through Malacca 'coz failing which, we'd get lost! :thumb:

Was the "outsider" in your group, but you guys (& gals) made me feel a part of the group. Thanks.

Lucky Shawn neh cancel trip ... haha :cheeky:

Hope to catch mika14 on another trip soon 'coz we both seem to like the same kind of trips (my accomplice in "crime" ... haha).

Now, neck still aching, but its time to start packing (& buy tank bag) for next weekend's Genting/KL trip liao ... can't wait! :cheeky:
