hey bro, no use postin here la, imagine u r the boss of the bike shop, mayb u do the same tin?... since ur frnz dun pay for so many months y dun he sell the bike away? can sell to anybody no need to sell back to the same shop... as for the A4 note i tink itz done by debt collecting company...

In this case i feel tat ur frnz is at fault first, he should return the bike to the bike shop or at least make some payment 1st... 4 months is too much lah

well guys cool man... is a common trade of a 3rd party debt collection. Report police also not much use as he neatly use tape and tape the paper there. No Vandalism? and it is true that ur friend owe $, i guess quite a hugh amount that the S1 or M1 decided to use a third Party (Cost Incur). The saying goes try not to wear a big cap when don have such a big head. From my point of view they would rather tow your friend`s bike. But i guess your friend has been parking his bike elsewhere to escape the towing ya. Got some friends ever did that also. So try to get the facts clear before making such a post. Kind of damaging to the company Reputation.

If anyone damaged the reputation of the company, it is the company itself. In full knowing what the debt collection company would do, they requested for their services. Which means that the collection company acts on their behalf.

The way i see it, whatever methods used would be deemed acceptable by the hiring company. Which means they condone such actions. And as such reflects on their idea of proper and legal means of collecting debt.

If thats the case, why do banks not use such methods since it is perfectly legal and more effective? Paste big big malu you can liao.

But they don't because such pasting of notes are double edged swords. It hurts the reputation of both the lender and borrower. And people still associate such uncouth notes with loansharks and hooligans' methods of collecting debt.

And if pasting does not consitute vandalism, try pasting hello kitty sticker on police patrol car see wad happen? Anybody can enlighten me?

Bro, please find out more facts and accurate source before u anyhow post la... :( The act that u post does not apply in this condition...

I suggest u go n read under Hire-Purchase Act Cap 125 to get a clearer picture. Btw all hire purchase agreement only side the "owner" which is the bike shop so u can save ur time debating... Or read on the hire purchase agreement your frnz signed when he purchase the bike.:thumb:

Yeah, agreed. By the way. why are we bringing up this issue? It is not the shop's fault that the debt collector use this method to demand payment.

Also, if the fellow cannot afford to hire purchase a bike, then why go into the agreement in the first place. I am sure the shop has made it clear to the hirer on the defaultment of payments. Therefore, a word of advise to all newbie or soon to get bike riders. Please think through on what are the finance issues involved first b4 going into hire-purchase agreement with a bike shop. Don't on the spur of the moment buy a bike and then realise that you could not afford to pay for the bike down the road. In this case, you are already paying with interest involved and when yoy get back the bike, you have to top up the interest somemore to get back the bike plus all the hidden cost and such.
