Bro, posing your troubled queries in this way can make us better understand what your problem is...

 

1. The category of the problem
   ASP.net ("VB Script" scripting flavour)
    
   
2. What were you trying to acheive?:
   Trying to populate a drop-down list (DDL) based on a SQL database (??)
    
   
3. What is the problem that is troubling you?:
   When i run my website with that DDL embedded into it, it comes up empty!!... someone please help!!
    
   
4. What are you attempting to do (before the problem occured)
   
    
   
5. The details of the problem (or the portion of the code you suspect is problematic)
   
    
   
6. Troubleshooting steps attempted:
   i've tried using sql queries and it works, but not when I did step #2 above

Boss no idea what you're trying to do but...

 

if u wanna use DataAdapater you no need to bother with connection state

 

just Da.Fill(ds)

 

and i need to point out some other mistakes you have...

 

cmd.ExecuteNonQuery()

 

Da.Fill(ds,"dvdForm")

 

 

cmd.CommandText = "select content from dvdForm where manifestNo = '" + manifestNo + "'"

 

2ndl if ur manifestNo is a number you put single quote, its no longer a number it becomes a string.. hope it helps
