anyone knows the cost of an original complete exhaust for the ACE1100? Can i get it at boon siew? or do I have to order it?

or is there any legal aftermarket exhaust that is compatible for this bike?

hi there,

You're riding the same bike? Great. If you don't mind, can share some of my queries?

1. Does your bike flutter when engine braking

2. Have you changed the rubber engine mount? I seem to see there are a couple of rubber mounts that are due for change.

3. Do you have engine misfiring when idle?

4. Correct me here. But are there two spark plugs per cylinder? In a V-twin??

5. Overhaul done?

My bike is great except for the following

1. It flutters when engine-braking. Also, when sticking at a constant speed at low gear.

2. Missing screws here and there. One major one I have is a hex bolt that is missing between the main and subframe joint.

3. Misfire like crazy during idle. One moment it idles well (rather high though). The next, it is misfiring and idling at very low rpm. But I simply love it when it idles low but engine will die if I let it idle that low for a long time.

4. When accelerating hard, I can hear some knocks here and there but the funny thing is, it happens at random. Maybe something looses OR worst, bad knocking and pinging.

hi there,

mine dont flutter when braking but it vibrates a lot . guess my idling timing is little pretty ok coz engine never dies during idling.

never changed the rubber engine mount. i have extended forward controls ordered from States and for passenger i have Jardine mini passenger floor boards(both are exact fits). The seat is Corbin exact fit and the handle is from Flanders with Kuryarkn grips. Bought em from Chua Chu kang harley bike shop. also got a made in taiwan tombstone rear lights and number plate is above it.

mine mis fires regularly LOL. i guess must be the carb mixture is not right(based on cruiser magazine theory).

yups 2 plugs per twin tats for sure. ( i removed the fin covers for both twins),

did overhaul abt 2 over yrs ago coz me abt 2k . the bike has all kinda sounds once turn oiff the engine . i guess being v-twin lots of metallic parts starts to twitch once engine is off LMAO.

problem is now my temp hit hot fast coz the fan coolant broke down again and have slight leak below. need to get it done. tot of changing the exhaust pipe if i could afford it. roadhouse pipes seems to be the best bet. looks cool and long.

hope this helps !!

i have a pair of exhaust pipe if you want. don't remember the details of it but was told that it was ordered fron US. i'm too gutless to put it on my bike. TP eyes are everywhere nowadays.

you can have it if you want. no cost to you.

where did you do your overhaul and how long does it take to complete the job. what was your odometer reading when you did the overhaul?

hi.

Mine took honestly abt 6 months coz some parts was gone due to wear n tear and needed to be ordered. i had the road tax laid during tat time so no need to pay LTA. My odometer hit abt 90000miles. had the piston enlarged and yeah also used K n N air filters with spit wire spark plugs cable . The spit fire cost $200 ($50 per cable). wat spare pipes u have as in wat brand?? i am going for a repair again this week (pay day LOL). need to fix the fan and normal maintenace and seal up the stupid leak. Its a great bike but after 11 yrs down the road hmmm lots of wear n tear. had the rectifier changes and the whole wiring redone due to short circuit b4. All in all i can say the repair cost a great deal. Not a cheap bike to maintain . wat i hate abt the bike is that it is spoke rim. the number of times i had a flat tire really cannot be counted LMAO. mine's a used bike bought in 95 for $8000. need lots of upgradin to do. id my overhaul at motor power co at geylang.

u have a pic of ur bike?

How about Shadow Aero? There is a used piece lying at Mah Pte Ltd. Do check it out if you are interested. Colors are orange and black.

hi, the forward control was ordered via ebay form the brand maypam if not wrong couple yrs ago. its exact feet for my model. it actaully extends the rider's legs abt three to four inches forward so its much more comfortable. it cost me abt with air freight abt S$600++

Of course, leg placement is very much more inch forward than on a Shadow.

However, it would be quite a worthwhile investment for those who want the extra chrome looks. :thumb:
