Request for advice. (Bad injury accident)

Hi fellow riders,

 

My friend is in ICU after a very bad accident 1-2 weeks ago. (collision with car)

He is still unconsious after so many days and have very bad injuries on him.

We are very unsure about what to do next.

 

Bike

I suppose the bike is at the TP compound, but what's next? Will the TP ask us to tow to some bike shop or?

Who will access the damage and repair? The bills will be paid first and claimed later?

 

Legal

I've reccomended a lawyer to his family as I kena a bad one 2-3 years back.

From what I gathered, the other party is at fault. No details, but lets say it's a sure win case.

But from now, what should we do?

 

Medical

His insurance is taking care of the bills now and I think the coverage should be enough for at least these few weeks.

 

Misc

Should his family run into financial problems because he contribute 70% of the household income, can his family ask for part of the payment from the other party's insurers?

 

The big problem now is my friend is unconsious and we are not sure when will he regain consiousness. This is a very trying time for his family and I hope to help them in whatever way I can.

Cos i heard might incur cost if you continue to place in the compound. Actually you can tow it to a bike shop to get it fix and then sell it if you do not wish to ride anymore, then claim that bugger's insurance.

Who will access the damage and repair? The bills will be paid first and claimed later? IDAC will access the damage. You need to fork out 1st.

His insurance is taking care of the bills now and I think the coverage should be enough for at least these few weeks. all of these charges can be claim thru that bugger's insurance. pay up initially claim later. can get quite a hefty sum if its permanent disability(PD) but see how's ur lawyer does it. i know that if there's a (PD) 20-30k possible in a claim.

Loss of Income(by the number of days the MC states, loss of usage of vehicle(number of days the motorshop qoutes and also further loss of income. can be done by ur lawyer's statement.
