hi guys. Am relatively new to the Deauville/Class 2 scene. Just curious about the bike.

Currently got myself a nt650v. Seems that the engine runs hot really fast esp. can feel it at the footpeg area only while riding resulting in really hot shoes.

Is it common for this bike or is there any solution to this issue. Was thinking maybe the radiator fan spoil but seems to be running fine.

Or is it the coolant. Or any other suggestions from seasoned deauville riders

Posted

Might be low coolant if the fan is running. Normal riding, the fan will not come on. My fan only comes on if there is a traffic jam.

Just top up your coolant reservoir with water or coolant.

hi shamx0,

hot air at the footpeg is common, just to be safe may be just change the cooling at you next service. if i am not wrong there is 2top up point for deauville nt650

According to my mech, you can't top up via the small reservoir below your seat. The small reservoir is for a cursory check of coolant level.

You have to remove the fuel tank and top up via the radiator cap just behind the steering cone.

Hi goomeister, this is what I try to say, as I make the mistake the 1st time I have my NT650, I just think the small reservoir is ok, so no need to top up till I go to service my bike than I know my coolant is super low. lucky everything is ok

Your mechanic is wrong.

I just checked the Haynes Service and Repair Manual and it says that you should not top up from the radiator. You should top up from the plastic collant reservior behind the left panel. Run the engine until normal running temperature. Put bike on level ground and on main stand. Top up with the correct coolant and water mixture (usually 50% of each). Check again a few times after each ride to make sure that the level is correct and top up again if necessary.

I just topped up my coolant last month because the radiator fan was coming on more than usual and now no problem.

U might wanna flush ur coolin system & top-up with Engine Ice after which u basically ride wif a prob free bike need not worry so much abt bike gettin overheated even when u encounter jams at wdlands custom.

thanks for the advice guys. wow wdlds jam was the worst. lucky cld switch off engine and just roll down e hill at sg side. will be topping up with engine ice, i guess its 2 bottles for nt650v?

btw cldnt find on previous posts. how far can you normally go with a full tank before reserve.

can only depend on the trip meter so hvnt relly tried till engine died.

you can look for Ah Ching (2nd Boss), or ah Huat (Boss)

Hi, hippo, went down just now and spoke to Ah Ching. Very nice, honest man. Saw Ur nice ride with enlarged side panniers. But the also very nice price tag is out of my budget. But *thumbs up* to Ur very nice, low mileage NT700ABS. Too bad out of my budget, unless I strike 4-D tonight. hahaha...

I saw this on sgbikemart. Only passing on this info to Deauville Brothers and wannabes.

I'm still on my 10 year old NT650V1 with a new 10 year COE.

BTW, what's a 600 lamb?

Hi...thinking of buying a used NT650 for transport and occasional touring up north. Was wondering how's the parts availability for this bike? Thanks for sharing

Most parts can be ordered online from UK. Some parts are the same as other Honda motorcycles.

Parts should not be a problem if you have a good and resourceful mechanic or you if you make friends with knowledgeable Deauville forum members.

BTW, there are 2 NT650 Deauville on sale on sgbikemart. The NT700 has been sold already.
