momo, some rear shock with cannister requires cutting of fairing? I thought most come with allowance for the cannister to be fitted in? Which brands are you referring to?

Any idea how much is the showa and ohlin original?

LAB quoted me S$75 for the mikuku ones..

How much are the inverted one with cannister? Rough estimate?

As for tyres, I am looking for Michelin Pilot Sport tyres.. No one seems to be stocking them..

i just got a WAVE R yellow colour woohoo...!!!! :cheer:

Just an advice. Get the original Honda sports rims.

I have heard so many real stories about ppl fitting sport rims other than Honda's. And what they get ? Less durabilty, rims tend to get dented after long term of usage and the rims also tend to rub against the wheel hubs, causing faster wear and tear. Tyres fitted to these rims tend to leak air ALOT faster than the originals...

Just sharing useful information that I have heard... :cheer:

okie okie ! Sports rim's topic aside. I have a slight problem, anyone able to provide me with some advice or solution ?

These days, when I travel to speeds of 80km/h to 85km/h, the engine tend to give a louder sound than usual.

When I'm travelling at speed regions before ( Less than 80km/h ) or after that ( More than 85km/h ), engine sounds normal. I change my engine oil regularly and do regular bike maintainence, bike is FW plater, so consider not VERY old to give out problems..

So, anyone experience the same problem as mine ???

It's because sports rim more heavier = consume more petrol and cover less mileage lor..

Sports rim heavy = more stability but have to sacrifice mileage a bit...so it's up to individual lor...

there''ll be a Honda wording inscribed on the rims itself. Yes, it is slightly more expensive those "chiong" sport rims. The rims are 6-spoked, and they roughly cost SGD190 +/- . If you can get it cheaper, that would be great !

Dude, thanks for responding.

I'm using Motul 300V, Semi-syn oil. I have checked the amount of oil, and it's still ok, without the need of topping up. I have been figuring whether the problem has to do with the engine oil, but the problem can only be heard between speeds of 80-85km, that's the most brain wrecking problem I have ever encountered.

I have also consulted some shops, they also laugh it off and sort of not buying my story...:weep:

thanks for the advice dude.

I too got an advice from my fren who's riding a Wave125s. He had eariler experience this problem many years back when he's riding another bike. It's due to the engine mounting that's becoming loose, which simply means that some screws that are holding on to the bike's engine may be loose. These are just some rough guesses only. Guess I'll head down to Ah Koon's and see what he have to say..
