Anybody encounter this, when riding @ 50 - 60 km/h then cluth in & rev till 7K or above u will hear a piak sound right at the 7k spot. Consult a mech, he says is the vtec.

Anyone know what is it?

Pardon my english. :cheeky:

quite funny leh see u describe like this

basically, the "piak" sound u hear is the activation of the VTEC valve.

for my bike, its the same. some times its so loud, some times not.

if u try to throttle at idling with ur side stand up, u should be able to hear the VTEC valve sound when u try to rev from 6k rpm to 8k rpm vice versa...

when at idling, VTEC valve will only work when ur side stand is up. this is a design by Honda, which i duno why...

for some who know, i had removed the cable connecting to my side stand. its for the convenience to demo my VTEC Indicator to others. but remember, if u choose to remove the cable, the "engage gear, no cranking" safety feature is also taken off) so pls do not do it unless u like to see ur VTEC Indicator light up on side stand... :cheeky:

another way is to travel at 4th gear and rev up to 8k rpm then drop to 6k rpm vice versa.

why rev from 6k rpm to 8k rpm and vice versa??? its to make ur VTEC valve "work" making the "piak" sound so u know if the VTEC valve is stuck up or not. (which seldom will)

had tried my best to describe ur problem in words above... hope the above 2 cents helps...

regards
