Now super dilemma don't know which sprocket to choose,

To my understanding

Driven

1, made of aluminum, very light = won't get good mileage on it

2, lots of colors to choose from

3, better pickup because of material of the sprocket

Or

Supersprox stealth

1, dual compound. made of steel for the teeth, aluminum for the core

2, only 2 colors to choose from

3, should be able to gain better mileage on them

4, heavier than aluminum sprocket

Get the stock ones. Heavier is okay, as long as you get good mileage. Colours and how light it is, are totally secondary.

Also, for Barracuda, you could ask BikeTech21 at Dunlop Street.

Hi fellow GSR riders, i am new to GSR and just got my GSR 400 5 days ago. pls contact me if you guys are planning for any coffee session or riding session as i would like to join too. Anyway i am staying at west side :cheeky:

btw i got few questions in mind

1. where do u guys normally service your GSR and also where do the guys staying in west side service your GSR too? because i think i have to do some servicing like change of EO, brakes pads and maybe chain with sprocket.

2. since yesterday i encounter a problem till today. During slowing down to gear 2 or stopping the bike at neutral gear, once i rev the bike the engine will stall when the rpm drop back to 550-650rpm and also i just realise that my rpm is at 550-650rpm when i stop my bike at neutral gear. Is it due to the idling is too low that might have casues the engine to stall? and i suppose my rpm reading is so low is due to the low idling too right? i want to adjust the idling myself so can anyone pls guide me where is the idling thing and how to adjust it in the right way.

3. The previous owner change to yoshi endcan and arrow midpipe. do i have to transfer the yoshi endcan to my name at STA or vicom?

4. lastly this question i dunnoe does it sounds stupid to you guys, i change all my gears starting from gear 2 to gear 6 every 5500rpm, is it normal?

thanks and will appreciate for any info provided for my above enquiries! anyway can contact me at 96173520 Anslem if got any coffee session or riding session. Thanks and ride safe guys.:)

1. I would recommend Planet Motors at Ubi. Usually, I DIY-ed these things.

2. Your idling seems to be too low, normal is 1.1k to 1.3k. I can help you and show you how to adjust.

3. Don't declare the arrow midpipe as it is illegal. Go do inspection for your end can and transfer name under yours. Did the previous owner pass you his certificate?

Anyway, you still need to head down to Motoworld as they are the authorised dealer for Yoshi to transfer the ownership of the pipe to you, cost will depend on them. After that, head down to STA or Vicom to get it reinspected and certified for road use, cost at $53.50.

4. It's a Suzuki, you are suppose to change around there. High revving bikes.

5. We usually have meet ups every Friday at KKFC. I'll post event.

Thanks bro for the replies,

1. Planet motor seems to have good reviews and feedback and any shop in west which is recommended too? As I am staying too far away from ubi. Haha

2. Yeah I think might be idling too low that causes all this engine stall thing, bro maybe you can pm me your num?

3. Ok so do I go to motoworld and transfer to my name first or go to STA or vicom to transfer the name name first? Yes the owner did pass me the certificate for the yoshimura end can. Anyway when I go to motoworld or STA or vicom do the previous owner have to be there or I can just get it done on my own since I have the certificate with me?

4. Ok so I am actually riding normal on the bike as I was worried that I was goning to damage the bike by the high rev.

Alight will look forward for the meet up. Haha. Have a lot to learn on this bike.

1. Just once in a while, I don't really trust any shops in the west, not even Unique motors though some may beg to differ.

2. My number is 93387820 and I'm staying at Yishun, feel free to contact me.

3. Go Motoworld 1st to get the name transferred under you then re-inspection for road worthiness.

4. No worries there.

Oh yeah, I'm organizing a DIY session next week or the next next week.

What are your opinions, guys?

Actaully this bike quite easy to DIY yourself on stuff. Do note Fast Idle also need to 'tune' back to around 1.5k rpm. Too bad nowadays no one orgy DIY sessions. Gone were the days where there are at least 1 DIY session a month.

Bro, from what i understand, the pipe is registered to the bike. So meaning to say, if u still have a valid certificate for your yoshi pipe and it states your vehicle number, u are all set to go. Not necessary for u to proceed to change ownership of the pipe cos the pipe is still 'legally' certified to be installed on your bike, regardless what name is registered on the pipe certificate.

The steps pointed out by bro Lex above only applies if u buy a second hand pipe from another person and have it installed it to your pipe. Since the pipe has been removed and installed on a different bike, the vehicle now has to undergo testing by STA or Vicom to certify that it has been installed correctly and conforms to all the legal standards as stipulated by our LTA.

Of course, if u are still unsure, can just drop LTA an email or a call or maybe just drop by Motoworld (Kaki Bukit) for an enquiry and at the same time be poisoned by the stuff in the showroom. (:D)

My fast idling was around 2k region, whenever I see the engine part I stress, not easy for juniors!

Guys is 14t 45t, 525 pitch recommended for 400 version? Talking about sprocket teeth

I used to have a 525 set on my 400 when I was still riding it. Didn't like the heavy draggy feeling. When I changed back to 520 with ISA sprockets, the feeling is so light, but of course, it didnt last long, even with scottoiler.

rien d'autre que le max.

Ah, my bad. Sorry bout that.

Agreed. Also by lowering the amount of teeth on the rear sprocket, it reduces torque but increase top end and fuel efficiently slightly. 2 teeth should't be much of a difference, 3 teeth on the rear equates to 1 tooth on the front.

Recently, I took a 48 rear sprocket, not much difference but was awesomely light!
