Neutral to first? If it's a clear one 'thud' sound it's ok. Most class two bike or even 2a first gear will have loud clunk into first..

Ride fast..ride safe..don't crash...

Thanks for the info, noted,

Actually having quite similar loud clunk while riding and shifting from the first gear to second gear to third, fouth as well, just wondering if this is a craracteristic of suzuki gsr400.

as so far i have not riding any other 2a bike except honda S4 (in the ssdc), seem to be smoother the gearshift, but S4 gear is shorter i guess.

Also the rear wheel break seem to be no bite and not smooth, even with new break pad, will try to send to service and ask if needed to change the break pump (?).

Hi GSRians

Just to check if GSR400 is still only available by PI?

also, how is the cost of spare parts like compared to S4 Revo? Generally cost 15-20% more or otherwise ? TIA.

1997 TZR 125 - 1998 FZ 150 - 1999 GSXR 400K - 1999 RX 100 - 2000 LC 125 - 2001 TZR 125 - 2002 CB 400 Ver S - 2006 CBR 929 - 2006 GETZ 1.4 - 2009 STEED 400 - 2016 ???

Riders ride to work. Drivers work to drive.

After went for servicing and riding about 2 weeks, bike overall excellent, engine very smooth, gear shifting very easy, lots of power and can pull from 2000+rpm even from 4th gear (need not to change gear often), clutch good considered light. bike very balance with 180 rear tire and cornering perfect, Gear quite tall, with just 4th gear good enough to cruise. One of the best bike for class 2A.

Glad to see the GSRs are still well in circulation and liked. It's a pretty sweet 400! After riding for 4yrs on it, I am moving on, but I have to say it served me very well on Singapore roads without fail. Ride on Stealthily! Hope mine found a good home.

If I recall this is a boxster engine so will be quite loud but not cranky type. I see you went servicing so hopefully now it better.

It a uncomman bike but the parts not those rare ones that burn your pocket.

Quite a big gamble for any bike that age since repair may cost u quite a lot.. Learned my lesson the hard way. Bought a cheap bike, end up repairing one item on the bike almost every month. There goes my meager salary..

Ride fast..ride safe..don't crash...

If ur just talking about the price, I would say its quite cheap. Where else can you get a 2A bike for that price.. Just look at S4. But do ensure the reliability of the engine etc. imho, gsr is a sturdy and durable bike, i have not face rectifier problem, oil seals nor engine leak and mine is a 7 yrs old bike.

You should check as much as possible on the engine(any rattling, noise) and try out the biting point, rev the engine to see any smoke or rattling noises. Check the disk brake and chain/sprockets for any bents or worn out. Hope it helps cheers.

It's a decent price. Like the other bros have mentioned, make sure it's not unusually rattly. If you hear a sound like a ball bearing rattling in a drink can / tin can, step away. Other than that, the engine is rather clicky/tappity, it's normal. Had no problems with mine all the way till I sold it with 3yrs left on the COE.

Thanks for the compliments bro! Glad you're liking the new look on your bike. And also pretty cool to see a GSR engine sounding good after those years! Have to say, pretty solid build.
