Hello Jia wing,

ABS models on GSR have a sticker on the front fender as well as ring slats on the side of the disc plate.the other tell tale sign is when you on the ignition.if the bike is ABS equipped.it will light up on the meter dash panel upon you turning the key switch.

thks

Hi guys.. any cons of picking up a 60k mileage gsr400 ?

left only 2 years of coe .. if theres a chance a top overhaul required?

worth it to renew for another 10 years? thanks

Posted

I personally feel as is the case with any bike that comes with age.. Surely the wear and tear items will need replacement sooner or later after you've owned it.

Having said that, for an 8 year old bike that has done only 60k mileage shoes it's used less than the average bikes here in sg I think.

Hopefully the previous owner has taken care of it well so that most things are in ok condition...

It will be a pain in the ass if every month some of your salary goes to repairing your bike. Just the case with my previous used bike......

Ride fast..ride safe..don't crash...

60k km on an 8yr old bike is pretty low usage. The gsr is a pretty hardy bike. Shouldn't have too many problems . Believe other than the odd rectifier burning out, as long as it's properly serviced on time, it should last quite a while. Engine is definitely noisier / tappier than cb400, but you should not hear loud metallic rattling.

Don't think anyone has done a top overhaul yet. If in doubt, can bring to doctor chong of planet motor. He's worked on quite a few of our gsr, not uncommon to see gsr there when you go by. I rode mine for 4yrs, went to him for last service before selling it and all was normal enginewise. Also around 60k.
